  1. Just thought I would pass along something I just did to my Big Jon triple rod holders. I superglued the red caps in place so they will never decide to go for a swim when yankin rods out of the holders. Regular superglue seemed to do the job. Anyone else lose caps? anyone? Jax
  2. I am trying to find the plastic holders that people use to hold salmon for pictures on attheoak.com I know Capt Ron, and Capt Chas use them aboard the bucaroo. I had some people come out with me last weekend and they couldnt hold a salmon or trout to save their lives.......I had a boga grip but im looking for something a little more inexpensive for clients to hold salmon. Its a plastic "C" shaped with a handle on it so it clears the fishs mouth. Anyone got a website or info on them would be much appreciated. Thanks guys Jax
  3. I told them to park it the other way!! I did it so the coast guard wont bother me on my way out AND windpower is cheaper than 4 dollars a gallon for unleaded AND the monsterous 38 inch beam on that puppy!! Thats the only downfall is the beam....Im going to mount one rigger and just stack my 4 rods? off to work -- gotta run Jax
  4. That is your email address
  5. Dropped in Sandy Creek at 6, motored west and set up and trolled the whole shore east in 8- 12 fow down to cowsuckers creek and around wautoma. Clear water with the the best water being around cowsuckers creek. The first fish was a king about 10-12 pounds that tossed the hooks at the back of the propwash. Set back up and dropped another one off the boards, as Im setting back up a 4# coho takes my yozuri black and silver as im putting it out. The lure was maybe 15 ft out! Next took 2 browns back to back off the riggers that weighed 10.3# and 10.8# respectively. Both were heavy with bait. DW super slims in double orange crush and metallic frog back 50-75 did them. Next we took a smallmouth bass that weighed 4 pounds even on my digital scale What a Toad it was. Great day to be on the water! Finished up the day headin out to scope out the depths and catch a few lakers ended up catching 1 and we lost 1. The water temps are shaping up out there in the 100 fow range, only a matter of days I think...... Pics are on my buddies camera will get em up when I get em.... Time for sleepytime now.....out again in the morning....hopefully Jax

  7. Ray, Come on now...... Getting excited to see a wire rod go in 3-4fters and accidently catching the the freespool is an accident, Not being a beginner....after getting the backlash untangled it ended up being a laker instead of a king. :? Was great to get out tho, My crew bailed on me the nite before so it was an unplanned back up trip to get out for the last day of the LOC. I appreciate pickin me up and taking me out Mike. Did some decent fish and some laughs, not a bad day at all. That big boy chris got jumping out of the water 3ft I will not forget for a long time. Im headin out in the A.M. to scope waters around here. Jax

  10. First king of the season!! Took him off of the Niagara bar monday. Fish weighed a little over 18 pounds but fought like a 30 pounder! Nothing fights like a Spring King! good luck to all in the LOC Jax

  14. The marks were not big at all, not king hooks by any means. Guessing cohos, or stray bows? We need RAIN! Jax
  15. Launched at 630 this morning out of sandy creek. The creek is high and HOT, found 58 degree water flowin out of the creek surrounded by 46 degree water in the lake. Dropped in the boards now laced up with 200# power pro and started trolling east. The power pro works great! Keeps the boards tracking true and the releases slide down so so much easier! Search mode to begin with and found some green stained water out front of the creek. Worked over the good colored pocket water around the mouth and managed 2 browns both around 7-8 pounds. Dropped 1 other hit that was on for a few headshakes. The hits came after we dropped the leads WAY back 200-250ft. I really hope we get the rain thats "forcasted" this weekend so we can get back on some decent brownie fishing! I ventured out to 125 just to change it up and dropped 2 riggers in the top 30. Found some scattered marks and alot of debris lines out there just COLD 41 degree water. Only fished for 30 min out there then picked up for the day. Have some pics of the brownies but will post em later. Come ohn RAIN, hey Ray do you know a raindance, put on some tribal clothing and chanting?

  19. http://www.smalloutboards.com/ This site looks solid and has quite a few for sale. Ships worldwide, you can even trade in your old engine and they pick it up?!
  20. Nice job billy! It was a tough day on the water for sure, hard work payed off if you were patient enough. We had to work for the 2 we picked up with the Cold front, poor water color, cold rain night before not a good equation for fish catching. :? Jax

    Hey guys

Thanks for that fast responses, reason for switching is exactly what billy stated. Also doesn't absorb water the dry out in the sun and rot. It also helps the boards run tighter on turns. Billy V- thanks for the input did you buy it off PP site? How much can you squeeze on them planer spools hmmmmmmm Off to work Jax
  22. Looking into buying powerpro for my big boards, instead of the green planer board line? What pound test should I go with? and what type of power pro? I was just wondering what people thought about it and what they are using?
  23. It depends on how much you use your trolling motor and how many volt system you want to run--more batteries to tend to. I would reccomend buying the most you can afford. You wont regret it when you need the power. I am going to be upgrading to a 36 volt 101lbs thrust from a 12 volt 45 lbs of thrust after seeing it in action aboard yankees boat. You can troll with it at 2.6 miles an hour!! haha stil plenty of power to trol all day with too!! Go with the most you can afford. Rewiring is the least of your worries when you dont have enough power for proper boat control. Get a 3 bank battery charger when you upgrade! Good luck. Any more questions feel free to pm me or ask.
