  1. Good eye mike good eye. They are working great so far, I think im going to use them for my big boards also, got some accudepth 27lcs for em. Cant wait till I cant get out for kings!!! My wire rods are giving me the puppy dog face everytime I walk by them. I tell them soon, your time is coming just be patient. headin out in the mornin wind/wave depending jax
  2. Ricky with the first of the day on the noodle rod! BANG! These things are a blast casting!! If you havent done it, DO IT! How do you troll on a bassboat? Take note this is how you do it on the crazy yankee   Jax
  3. After a couple trips with yankee on the bass boat I decided to get some rods bent trolling out of sandy creek. Fishing by 8 with my father, brother in law, and 3 year old nephew on board. Came out of sandy creek and headed East, found real good water color and temps all the way down. Entertaining the young in, and family and trying to catch fish was the name of the game. Actually FIRETIGER was the name of the game. It was a slow pick all day ended up 4 for 6 all browns around 5-6 pounds. With all fish being taken on firetiger rogues. Stopped in front of cowsuckers creek to try our luck at casting and break up the trolling for a bit. I worked the trolling motor while my father and brother in law cast sticks in firetiger and black silver. First cast BANG, hooked up! Brother in law with a nice trout on 6 pound test! I set up cole with a small spoon on his spider man rod just to occupy him and he actuallt got bit and had a trout on for a few headshakes. It was a riot!! Was a good day on the water with my family while catching fish. Notice the new line of spiderman fishing rods you can use when you come aboard my boat! Captain Cole is on the fish, he says the fish are shallow change up the rods! Another brownie that cole helped reel in! We lost a fish, Ahhhhhhhh! My father with the last one of the day, crossing infront of the creek for a "one more pass before we go" The lake kicked up and we were hungry so it was off to lunch then home for a nap!
  4. Skunks happen, it is part of fishing. :? I brought out the family also today with my father, brother in law, and my 3 yr old nephew coming out. Will post a report with some pictures. The fish were definatly scattered today with the wind shifting as it did and people pounding the shoreline the last week. - Are you running flourocarbon leads? Tie a double uni knot to splice your mainline to your flouro or a small sized ant swivel if you prefer. Keep everything as stealthy as possibe! I dont use swivels when the fishing is tough, keeps it cleaner looking in the water. -Do you have inline planer boards or a mast system to get your lures away from the boat? Just a couple thoughts to kick the skunk next time.... Jax
  5. Are any of you getting your TWIC cards? Whem I got fingerprinted the Coast Guard mentioned it is going to be required by law but right now its not mandatory. I have a hand out all about it, I will see if I can post up some info!
  6. Hey guys Congratulations! Make sure you have your full size charts on Lake O for the derbies please, parallel rules are optional! Jax
  7. Any pictures? I will be out sunday A.M. with my father.
  8. That was a good time casting for brownies off a the GOFAST boat. That thing does GOFAST, set up sweet for speed and jumpin spots, not bad for trollin also. Watching them following it up and then slam it boatside like a smallmouth or northern. Fun times! We did em all in a short amount of time ran out of sunlight, but still great to be on the water gettin the net wet! Should be on the lake with the Lund all weekend..... Jax
  9. I am interested in reading this article, is it the latest infishermen magazine? whats on the cover? 600 feet down? sounds rougher than fishing out of fairhaven! thanks jax
  10. Hey tim just brought the boat home from storage!! I am going to spend tommarrow morning getting it ready and reloading it! I am going to get the measurements for the new steering cable, and try and get it ordered within the week $$ depending. Give me a call or a number where I can give you a ring, Thanks ttys Jax
  11. Does anyone fish buffalo harbor in april? My father heard something about it and we are planning a trip around april 19th i think. Any information would be great! Places to stay, places to start fishing. We are targeting big smallmouth for catch and release bringing my lund up their. Walleye per haps? Thanks guys Jax
  12. I have thrown large swim baits on castaic and lake casitas out in california. They get big responses from big fish. In california they have trout plants on most lakes and ponds in the area, the larger LB feed on these stocked trout. Never landed one on them but have had follows and fish flare their gills in the 8-14 range a few inches from your bait. RIDICULOUS! I think they would do well on some of the smaller finger lakes, hemlock, canadice? Got to add that to my to do list this year for sure! Jax
  13. Boat looks great Bill minus the ice/snow of course!! Scoping yours out is giving me BBD--bigger boat disease. Gotta get out fishin with you this year for sure. Come ohnnnn spring come ohn come ohn!
  14. We always get wacked in March...... this snow is gettin out of control. Im glad to hear it was cancelled because I wanted to make it but had some work restrictions, also weather/snow would have made it a tight time squeeze. Keep us posted Pat, I would like to attend if I can. Jax :?
  15. If it isnt professuerrr thomas the tank engine with his pretty new website for his pretty new shiny cooking school. Did you hire chris kisiel for your "sous chef" I have heard some reviews that say otherwise...ah hem.....about your first second third. The black north has some good after fishing all day food for sure, plus the view is a nice also! Im headin up the salmon river in 2 minutes to fish all sunday and monday, have fun with your shiny cooking schoool TOM, hopefully we will be layin into schools of chrome in the DSR!! muah haha Will post pics and Report when I get back Can you say 50 degrees for monday? Its HUGE rochester HUUUUGE!  spring is soooo close, boats comin out of storage next week to start working on it..... Later Jax
  16. The Probe rigger is the first rigger that goes in the water to find the Ice water, usually will end up getting pulled up just above that 38-40degree water, then stagger your set above that. You can use your probe to keep checking and rechecking speed and temp at different depths until you dial in your program. Once dialed in you can keep it down in the cold zone. Use it often to check and recheck your speed/temp at all your depths where you have your gear. That rigger by far takes the most abuse on my boat in one day. Jax
  17. I like the KEY LIME pie at the end also, very nice video. Looks like you had a great time! Great job putting together the video. Where can you feed the tarpon? Is it Tarpons season right now, Jax
  18. Tim Thanks again to you and the gang at L.O.T.S.A. for holding a great event!! I appreciated the seminars from all the knowledgable captains and guy from the DEC. So much information was given out from such a bunch of great guys! It was also nice getting my hands on some fishing equipment and talking fish stories it really got the gears turnin for this season. It was fun to meet a bunch of LOU people and various captains/sponsors putting names with faces etc. For all that did not make this even, pencil it in for next year!! Tim B I will definatly let you know about the Autopilot once I get the boat back home and in the driveway in a few weeks. Ray What did you end up walking out of there with? Do any of the items keep Fishinman awake and help to reduce his chum line? Thanks again guys for a great event!! Come ohn spring!! Jax
  19. I need to stock up on this before the season gets underway! Would anyone be interested in purchasing a case and shipping it on dry Ice to my house?? I will pay $$ The stuff they had available last summer I wouldnt feed it to a dead carp, packed in oil and had the consistency of overcooked pasta- which you can learn to do at fishinmans cooking classes. Does anybody want to go in on a bulk pick up, I will transport this myself if I have to. PM or email me if your are interested, or know where I could buy it? Thanks
  20. Dam good spot! When were these taken? I heard the ice dams were something to see a few days ago. Come ohn come ohn spring! Thanks for the pictures Jax
  21. I was just wondering about the Red Cross tournament for rochester. If there is such a tournament and more information about it. I saw the website for the fingerlakes, but no mention about the rochester. Thanks guys Jax
  22. I think it was the first week of January...maybe the 8th? Rough estimate Come ohn Come Ohhhhn Spring! Actually I am up for either way All snow and cold for another month or 35+ degrees not both! I guess thats normal for rochester this time of year. I can hear my tekotas now? ZzZzZzZzz
  23. Here is a pic of that steelhead from a few weeks back. Sorry it took so long to post I had some trouble getting the pictures from my friend. She was over 12 pounds for sure, beauty of a fish that swam away back into the 36 degree water. Come ohnnnn Spring! Do you guys think we are going to get wacked in March with snow one more time?
  24. I wore crocs most of this winter before changin into the waders on the creeks, and afterwards. I definatly am getting my moneys worth out of them. Once the air temps hold over 40 the crocs come out full time. All I have to say is those are some ridiculously funky tan lines. I think Ricky should post up a pic of his feet which is the end result of putting in hours wearin crocs. You still got the tan spots/lines?? Definatly can catch big fish wearing crocs but your feet end up lookin like your spoons. Mulatto....... Jax
  25. I just put my order in, goin on the probe rigger. Thanks for the heads up billy! Come on Spring!! I feel like im on a road trip, is it time yet? Is it time yet? Is it time yet? Jax
