  1. I used to catch some big browns on the south end of Cayuga just off the drop off using sawbellies. If I was marking fish say 40 down ,I would cast a sawbellie 40ft from the boat clip a bobber on then cast the bobber out to get it away from the boat. Absolutely deadly for browns. Now ive got fancy trolling equipment so I dont fish that way anymore. I kinda miss it.
  2. Thanks for posting the pictures and the report. Nice to see some size.
  3. I hooked my kicker directly to the perko battery switch.[1,2 and both] Not sure if its the right way. I also run two batteries. Only difference is Yamaha motors. Been that way 19yrs never had a problem. 1000s of hours.
  4. I will be a back up buyer. They will have to be shipped.
  5. A friend of mine fished Tuesday out of Meyers . Fished the same water we have been fishing in the center of the lake. He only caught one dink salmon. Hooks and bait were gone.Blank screen. I thought maybe the lake flipped over. I guess it could be something else.
  6. I hope this picture comes out. This is what the green water looks like. Does not seem to effect fishing at all. Ive seen it in years past also.
  7. 2nd place lake was 10-15
  8. Meyers then up the middle of the lake.300ft plus
  9. Had fish on the screen like this almost all day. You can see my downrigger balls were in about the right place. Caught many had all six rods working. No lampreys,no scars. No fleas. A few weeds. BTW its a 20 plus yr old Furuno.
  10. I do not know how long they had it going but !st time Ive seen smoke coming out of the stack today. Might have to change Saturday fish plan.
  11. Have not fished in a month.Went out of Meyers around 5:30 this afternoon after the storm passed.Got out over deep water . 1st rod fired before I could get the 2nd rod down.Took quite awhile to get six rods down . Just a steady pick till we pulled them around 7:30. Quality lakers .just the perfect fish for my amateur crew members. All colors ,everywhere. I did not see any seafleas, but I run 50lb test ande line. I did see a few lamprey scars but no lamprey. I seen a lot of weeds more to the east side.Marked lots of huge bait pods with fish around them. Color or presentation did not seem to matter. The Cayuga megabite continues....
  12. Is that a 14.14 brown? Any pictures?
  13. Fuel tank vent?
  14. I originally started this thread. Got everything put together to fish it and some family matters came up so I will not be fishing it. I hope someone will post up the results Saturday and Sunday. My guess if its not 10.5 throw it back.. Good luck to all.
  15. The DEC did a great job on the lamprey in Cayuga. Something you do not hear much is a compliment to the DEC.No scars on any fish Ive caught on Cayuga. It does not seem like that long ago on Cayuga you would have lamprey stuck to all the fish, the downrigger balls and stuck to the side of the boat. Captain Mark you do a good job of picture taking. With the fish held close to the body you can get a good Idea of the actual size. Plus I could see the scales on its back.
  16. Nice ,that top one looks 12 or so.( a 14 on my boat)Hee Hee.Thanks for showing pictures. You have to wonder how long the mega bite on Cayuga will last. BTW I recognize that shoreline.
  17. Fishstix crew is getting in.Barney was a classic.

  19. I blame those big fans on the North end of Seneca for the wind on Seneca.
  20. You are up there all the time any truth to a 14.5lb brown caught out of Meyers? BTW great great pictures thanks for posting.
  21. You are a great dad, love to see those kid fishing pictures.. Parking lot full? That has got to be like 100 boats.
  22. Congrats to the winners. We fished Saturday only.To my surprise Canaidaigua Lake was not in my GPS . Just a beautiful lake to fish could not decide which cottage I wanted. Caught three or four fish nothing big. Launch was open when we launched. .Thunder boat was just launching when we left around 3:30ish.I will look forward to this derby next year. All the fishermen on the lake were very courteous.
  23. I wonder if they will go after texting while boating.. You have any ID? About what? Thanks for the heads up. I am sure I am compliant but I have never had my trailer inspected in 20 yrs.I think I will get it done. I know it will pass.Don't want the hassle. BTW I don't text.
