  1. I need it for just the anchor.
  2. Ray I wanted to try that many times when you see the steelhead on the surface.Jump up on the bow with a spinning rod and cast ahead of the boat. Reb I used to be a real prolific poster. I used to hand out tons of info on whats working, when, where etc. I once posted a lot of good info and had 300plus hits and not a single reply.I don't really care and I am probably wineing but I use this board for entertainment purposes only now.Im not going to lie in my reports, but I'm not as specific as I used to be.Yes there is a lot of good info exchanged here and Ive met a lot of good people from this board. Even in the winter I check the board probably 3 times a day. In years past Ive even rented computer time at Macdonald's. I would go there and sit in the parking lot with my laptop . Hook up to their wireless thingy and give a report.
  3. 5th wheel. No less than 25 ton.It wont get used more than once a month. So it really doesnt need to be anything great. I just need it to pass inspection. But if the price is right Ill do the brakes ,tires etc. Ideally it would have its own pony motor.
  4. This isnt fishing related but I know I can count on you guys. Im looking for a equipment trailer. The detachable type , like you would pull behind a tractor trailer. The type you would haul a dozer or other type of heavy equipment. If you see one around NYS or nearby let me know.Used not new.Ive been looking in equipment trader mags and that already. Thanks guys and gals.
  5. Took a ride up to the big pond today. Had to pay my campsite at Hughes and did a little shopping at Abes. He just moved the shop down the street three doors. I have never seen so many lures . I checked out the new NKs. Stingers and all mfg. you can imagine.I dont need anything but I managed to drop 80 bucks like it was nothing.I guess Im a spoon junkie. Its just a guess but I would say he had 300 different NKs in there. The more you look the more you need.

  7. If anyone ever wonders why the is a statue of Long Line in front of the LOU building its because of this kind of work.
  8. Jessica Simpson just called. wondering what I was doing this weekend. She said she was cold.I think Ill go fishing instead.
  9. Slip bob Ive been checking into the ticas . I see they are half the price of the Tekotas . Which exact model do you have?I found the ss348c for 77 bucks delivered to my door.Ive been doing some reading on these and they are supposed to be great reels.
  10. Start the motor ,turn on the XM. Usually old country ,sometimes bluegrass. It just depends on who Ive got with me.60s 70s are ok also. I also listen to open road [the truckers channel] The Ron and Fez show is probably the best show on the radio.Ive got a Yankee Fan I fish with quite a bit and we listen to the ballgames.
  11. Okuma's ,Heartlands are ok but I like the Okumas better.I run mostly dodger flys off the divers. And the Okumas tip seems more sensitive. You can judge your downspeed watching the rod tip. If its pulsing you know your dodger is working right.I run wire dipseys all the time after spring top water fishing. I have downspeed and temp. but I dont need it it when the wires are out. Also I seem to catch more fish out of temp then in temp.Ive still got a couple heartlands that served well for many years. I would say it all depends on how much you fish. How much attention you pay to little details.
  12. Im thinking about picking up a couple {4 total] new linecounters for spring planerboard fishing.I made the mistake of running 12lb test last yr Im going back to 17lb this spring.I love my tekota wire setups and Ive been thinking I want Tekotas for mono also. Anyone had experence with the 300 or the 500? Its hard for me to just order one not ever really seeing one or holding one in my hand.
  13. I dont believe I could get under the bridge. There also used to be a gravel bar at the outlet to the lake you had to watch. If you go and can take a quick measurement form the bridge to the water it would be nice to know if I could make it. One time in my other boat I forgot[actually girlwatching] and left the rods in the rodholders. Thats embarassing. It has its own wackcrack sound when you go under the bridge. And Stinger , dont use the same ruler you use to measure your fish!
  14. I tried some of the Glowz paint. I seems quite durable and didnt lift anything I painted over. Now if the fish like it it should be fine.It glows green.
  15. Thanks for posting that info. Were luckey we got the fishing in we got.I ve been thinking about switching lakes for awhile . May try Seneca out of Sampson for a change.A new challange. Cant wait to get backup to the big pond.
  16. Nice setup. I bought a bunch of stainlees screws, bolts at an army surplus yrs ago. UTT Ohh I smell photoshop.
  17. Ive been running wire probably 8yrs or so. There is something about it that attracts fish. I catch a lot of fish off the riggers but my best fish seem to come off the wires.Back when I fished the fingerlakes I made up a wire seth green rig. It was smokin hot. Ive changed my style now Im not after numbers ,Im after size. As far as wire goes 300 ft back a 2.5 setting on the dipsey seems to be a good starting point.Everywhere I go. Thats a lot of cranking. to bring your stuff in to check for weeds or change lures.I figure it gets me down 80 to 90 ft with the stuff I pull.I figure If I can go down 80 they can come up 20. A fast retreve ratio makes a hell of a difference. ,git ah tekota. Lots of interest in leadcore lately on the board. Ive been thru that cycle before also.If it catches fish for you thats great. I caught fish on it but finally decided it wasnt worth the hassle. If I hooked a good fish on the wires or the riggers it always ended up getting wrapped up in the leadcore. If leadcore seems to be the only thing taking fish this yr Ill get it back out in a heartbeat. Im not antileadcore it was just a big hassle. Jolley you going to be fishing out of Hughes this yr?
  18. Stinger thanks for thinking about me. I didnt make it down to the NYC boatshow I couldnt find anyone who wanted to go . My son lived on the N fork of LI. Everytime I went down I went boat shopping. Grady, Robaldo, Key west , On and on ,the dealers were all down there. Every type of boat you could imagine.Ill keep my 21ft arima. My next one will be a 22ft arima .If my ship comes in. BTW when I got my boat I was concerned the 115 was to small . But it works perfictly. If I bought a 22 it would probably have a 150. But its a much larger boat. One of the guys up at camp is supposed to be showing up with a new 22 this yr. I cant wait to see it.
  19. Stinger thanks for thinking about me. I didnt make it down to the NYC boatshow I couldnt find anyone who wanted to go . My son lived on the N fork of LI. 20. If you scrounge around you can find Mason brand wire line.Buy the 1000 ft spools. Last yr. I respooled with new mason wire[ive always used mason]One spool was silver colored wire one was brownish colored wire. The silverish colored one attracts less fleas than the other.I also seem to do more fish on it. We had this discussion on the other board but its very important to get the line tight on the reels. I roll out the spool tie it to a tree and reel it on the spool. Its hard to crank in 1000ft with steady tension on the line. Then go out in the lake and tie on a 1lb weight let it all the way out .Put the boat in gear and reel it in against the pressure of the boat going forward. Nothing is worse then getting a loose loop under wire that is tight on top. I usually respool my wire rigs every year. This yr I think Im just going to reverse the wire off one reel on to the other. I had a few fish stretched out over 700ft last yr.So you need the 1000 ft. You will like the blue diamonds if you have enough room room in the back of the boat to handle a 10ft rod. I run the 9ft leaders behind the dipseys Ill do fish on days other guys wires are not fireing. I give the tekotas a a+ . Buy the strongest rodholders you can find. Retie the wireknots every couple times out. DONT beat me in a derby with my own info.
  21. It doesnt say if its oil or acrylic. It was $4 a can. 6oz. Ill give er a whirl today.Ive been wanting to do some copper glow stuff also. http://www.krylon.com/main/product_temp ... ct_details
  22. Im awalys checking out the paint departments of various stores.I like getting spoon blanks and painting and tapeing them up and getting them working. Im still running the metal dodgers. Well tonight I was at Wallyworld in Ithaca and found some glow spray paint. I dont know how long its been around but its the first Ive seen it.Its made by Krylon its called GLOWZ. I havent tried it yet Ill be painting up some dodgers tomorrow and Ill bet a purpleglow dodger will be putting lots of fish in the fishstix boat next yr. Yea Ill do some spoons up also. Here I go talkin purple again.
  23. Mods This is done with humor only in mind. I dont participate in the Pro Ams. I cant get enough guys interested. If this starts a firestorm please delete it. If it goes over good Ive got another.
  24. If your woundering about why old cutbait hasent been posting much lately Ive been proweling the dozer boards. This is my latest purchase. It doesnt look big but its got a 10ft blade.Thats my JD450 parked next to it.It dwarfs it. I bought it to build a few ponds and fix the roads up on my property. Fun to run. Get a blade of dirt and just goes.I know its not fishing related but you are my extended family and you should know whats going on. The Pro Am has taken up the board .I dont do Pro Ams.I did a couple photoshops up for it but didnt post them . It seems to be a touchey subject.Any other dozer guys out there? It would be nice to have a "coffee shop" section on the board for this kind of stuff.
  25. That one did. I bought mine thru digitaldagger .com. They had free shipping on reels at the time 151 delivered to my door.I dont know who is the cheapest right now. Ive been thinking about switching over to the 500 lc for spring time planerboard reels.Ive lost some real nice bows to the poor drags on the other mfg.
