  1. Yankee; I hear you, however, I have two Brute back up riggers that can just be dropped back in where they were originally on my boat. There is a very good warranty on the Traxtech's, & hopefully, I won't need to use it. My supplier says that the ones coming out now have the initial bugs worked out on them, only time will tell. Thanks for the first hand info, as there is none better!!!
  2. The new Traxtech riggers have a lot of unique features not available on other riggers. They are in short supply now, but I have two on order, with delivery scheduled in time for Christmas. Check them out!
  3. Where is the chiller to supply cold water to the system for the cooling season?
  4. Water levels are allowed to get too low, making alot of docks & boat launches unusable. If you have trouble with low water you can't even go fishing!
  5. Check out the Garmin GHP-10 Autopilot, as it will work with the main motor & the kicker just fine. Garmin 5000 series chart plotter with the eChip. Those two will work togerther very well. Seastar hydraulic steering with a big pump as well.
  6. Check out the Garmin pattern steering, awesome!!!
  7. Love my Garmin GHP-10, works on the kicker & the main outboard.
  8. Good work!!!!
  9. John; Great post as always (honest too!!!), I have been fishing elsewhere due to the bait problem there. I am getting low on eye fillets, & will have to go after them soon. Thanks!
  10. When you have a fish on the wire, slow the boat down about .5 mph & make sure your drag is not too tight! You may need to speed back up some when you are netting the fish to keep it behind the boat.
  11. Vince is the guy to get for your captain!
  12. None here, & I am running a Lowrance HDS 8 with the same frequencies. My transducers for both the fishawk & sonar are within 2" of each other. I believe that the Fishawk frequency is not too near the frequencies you state, hence, no interference. I do not have any experience with the Hbird though. Good luck!
  13. Have read speed & temp down to 300', it is the best unit out there, & you get what you pay for.
  14. Hey, it's On the Lamb Baaa, Baaa, Baaa, squeal!
  15. You must have learned this approach in plumber school! How did it work for ewe!
  16. You already are! Stop faking it!
  17. Hey Necki, I will tomorrow, was hoping to get some advance notice, kinda like in the Pro Ams where the annointed are given GPS coordinates where the larger feeding fish are prior to the start of the fleecing!
  18. Can anyone give a depth for the 50 degree temerature level out of Oswego? Is the lake stiill experiencing an upwelling? Thanks in advance!
  19. Ruff What depth is the thermocline at (50 degrees F) ?
  20. Captain Ernie Lantigne of Fish Doctor Charters, Oswego NY. One of the best out there, & the only Lake Ontario captain to win back to back Fall & Spring LOC Derbies for his clients.
  21. Just ask Tim what he thinks about about Fishawk.
  22. So you have to hang on to the clutch lever while it drops? So not only the motor/driveline bearings are loaded, the clutch is engaged as well. So there several levels of wear taking place, not as good as it is made out to be, especialy since the rubber band drive belt is being stretched as well.
  23. So you say, however the motor bearings carry the load, so the wear continues, this is not a free ride, & is not as simple as you make it out to be. Also much less control on the ride down!
