    New motor

Honda 4 stroke all the way.
  2. What chart plotters does this data card work with?
  3. Sounds like you need a new fishing spot.
  4. Was the picture from Seneca Lake?
  5. My hydraulic steering is hooked up on the 225 Honda, the hydraulic pump is under the steering wheel behind the bulkhead.
  6. If you get the Garmin, be sure to get the hand held wireless controller, as you can then control boat direction from anywhere on the boat.
  7. Ran one on my boat this year, & it was flawless in 300 hours operation running 225 & 8 HP Honda's. You need hydraulic steering. Calumet Marine installed mine.
  8. The swamp is in Gainsville, not in New Jerksey. However, good win for New York's only watchable team, the GIANTS, & the Bills & Bears still create constant vacuum!!
  9. I think it was more the overfishing during the spawning runs up the rivers, that eliminated the Atlantics, than the changes in the landscape, although the environmental changes aren't good.
  10. Been catching many more & bigger Atlantics through the last three years. They are very cool fish!!!! Picked up several in the ten to 15lb class this year. I release all Atlantics I catch, unless they are injured severely (gill damage).
  11. How much 20 lb test mono will they hold??
  12. It was 41 degrees 25 feet down over 100' of water there, as we fished in the same area, further out from the flotilla. We were running our dipseys out 55' on a 3 setting & took two shots on them, yielding one king about 25 lbs. Upwelling makes for tough fishing.
  13. If you look at the second screen shot (the one with the Fishawk in it) I am in almost 600' of water & am using the zoom feature on the left half of the screen 55' to 255', & the right side shows the full 600'. & the Lowrance is rated to at least 1,500 feet of depth & is NEMA 2000 linkable. The Furuno only has the common frequencies 50 &200KHZ, so you can't avoid interference from nearby boats by switching to other frequencies. The Lowrance HDS 8 has 50, 83, 200, & 433KHZ frequencies available.
  14. Some shots off my Lowrance sonar. 83 khz ducer is on the left & shows the rigger lines, have four frequencies to select from.
  15. Lowrance HDS series is a very good choice, & the smaller screens are not too expensve.

  17. Diablo: We start out with B. B. Kings Bluesville, if that doesn't work we switch to Classic Vinyl, if they still won't bite, we put in the Best of Bob Marley CD, the heavy bass always works.
  18. Tim; It kills me to say this, but you are correct (just kidding). They are two of the four on the boat, 250 watts to each of them. Sirius radio as well.
  19. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 8-13-11 Time on Water: 6 hours Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: south low teens to single digits towards noon Waves: 1 to 3's & dropping Surface Temp: 74.6 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 20 Total Boated: 15 Species Breakdown: Kings, Hoe's, & a laker Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: 2.6 Boat Depth: 500 to 650 Lure Depth: 120 to 80 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Went past the light house around 5AM (pretty dark still). Ran the speed up to 25 mph, set the auto pilot to 330 degrees & sat back & waited to get to the deep water, 500'. Ran dipseys at 225 to 250 on a 1.5 setting with FF on them (protrolls & atomic's). Three spoons & one FF on the riggers. Three Kings in the low twenties, the rest were smaller.
  20. You should rotate the bar after each sharpening to keep the bar wear even. DUH????????????
  21. 1000' of 7 strand 30lb wire, Tekota 600LC, 8' Telora Roller Rod (cause longer rods give the fish too much leverage) rule, as a wire outfit. Been running this set up for the last 10 years, love them.
  22. Trying to explain physics to a "PA Master" appears to be & maybe is impossible, but here we go, wheels with bearings turn much easier then dragging the load on the ground, do you get it now!!! Nah, knew you wouldn't.
  23. Words from the PA master, "Use em if you want to but you don't need roller guides for wire divers......ever!" ,obviously, he doesn't have to reel in the fish on the wire most of the time, & his clients have a much harder time with large fish on the wire with standard guides & the screen door spring on the top of the rod (cheapest set up you can get), then they would with a quality roller rod & wire. Ever is a real long time!
  24. Once you fight a big King on a roller wire dipsey rod you will see how much easier they are to use. Much less drag then with guides & the screen door spring on the tip.
  25. Slow the boat down when you hook up on wire. This will help a lot.
