    Oniada Eyes 6\5

Winnebago is just a shallow swamp, with an average depth of 9', Oneida is nothing like Winne. Sorry Mark! Oh, forgot to mention the incredible stench from the paper mills on Winne. Smells like a dead body for miles.
  2. Did you call the manufacturer, as they are the experts???? They are super to deal with!!!
  3. X-4, modern & unencumbered
  4. Another nice feature is that they tend to bring the fish to or near the surface after a hook up as they roll over.
  5. Garmin 5008 with the G2 map card awesome!!!
  6. Mooching reels are direct drive, & as such have no gear ratio to help with a charging salmon, further, your knuckles get wacked when you try to adjust the drag when a big King is running. Not my idea of a desirable situation anytime, anywhere. To each their own, but no mooching for me!!!
  7. We all know that the Pro AM's are set up so that a select few are in the know, they share pertinent info with each other, & this fact makes it real tough for others not in on the inside information. Until they change the open communication rule to no communication, many will be at a great disadvantage, & the tournament has little chance of getting larger. I'm with you Matt!
  8. If you pro rate the cost of the Tekota line counters over a 10 year life, the will cost about $20 yearly. Not very much IMHO.
  9. Shimano Tekota 600 LC
  10. I run pancakes down as deep as 110' & do not have a problem with tangles. Properly angled rear fins on the pancakes keep them out to the side enough to prevent tangles. It's not rocket science!
  11. The Honda ATV's are better, & last longer.
  12. 20 lb sharks almost straight down to 150' of water. You get what you pay for!!!
  13. Shimano Tekota 500 LC
  14. Your post sounds like you were drunk when you wrote it!
  15. Honda gives one year warranty for commercial use, & 3 yrs on private use. Get more insurance, or an extended warranty from the dealer. Lets all go forward with this knowledge, so we have a better experience next time.
  16. Just bought a Honda 8 HT with power tilt , electric start, & 12 amp output alternator for around $3,300 as a kicker for my new Hewescraft. Why pay for a rebuild on an old platform, just go new, dump Yammy & start over with a better product. I also currently have a 1996 yammy 9.9 HT on my Lund Newport 2100 & it has worked well for the last 10 years, & is still going strong. Good Luck, hope your downtime for this is limited.
  17. The Kumho tires don't get any smaller than 185 X 14 they don't make a 13" tire.
  18. Switched to Kumo tires six years ago & never looked back, load range D with lots more tread, cheaper than the Marathons!
  19. 4' booms on my Brutes handle a 20lb shark weight just fine, so the 4' booms on your lighter weights should be great, older BJ riggers are designed differently & have a stress riser at the end of the threaded portion where the boom threads into the mounting block, which can snap. The newer BJ's have the entire shaft, not just the threaded portion is mounted into the machined block.
  20. Tred, he's the MAN!!!!!! Iconelli is a cry baby, he got penalized at a tournament for dead bass in the well & threw a monster hissey fit. This guy needs to grow up!!!!! He is nothing more than a self centered punk!!!
  21. These fish are not tagged or wire implanted, thought the NY State had an implant machine for the salmonids? Seems like they could implant these too to better understand the ratio's.
  22. The fish are there, they need to be enticed to strike, & you need a little luck. Last 2 day trip with Fish Doctor yielded a 50" lunge & several other pike. Have done thee SKI's from Iron Man to Clayton 40 to 50"es, behind Wolfe Island is a great place to be if no one else is there. I can't disagree, the fish are tough to catch!! I have over 60 hours of trolling to get three. However, I have learned some things & have more confidence.
  23. Go for the Berger rig, typical charter captain approach when trolling for the big boys!!!!!
  24. 7 & 8' Shimano TDR's $30 price & several actions to choose from. Best rod around for the money IMHO. Remember, the longer the rod the more torque the fish can put on the angler, it's the old lever physics problem!
