  1. Musky Honda outboard's for power, 225 4 stroke main power & 8 hp 4 stroke kicker, 85 gal fuel tank, at least 350 miles range at cruising speed with a WOT of 50+MPH fully loaded I don't think you can get an I/O or inboard in a Hewes.
  2. Tim; My boat has a bimini top with full side & rear curtins (not a hard top/pilothouse), & I am buying it from Calumet Marine/Frank Martin. I was at his shop last week determining the location of all of the rigging/electronics. Getting hard to get a full nights sleep lately. See you in Olcott for the Spring LOC, providing all goes well. Thanks for the kind words!!!!!!!
  3. I will be taking delivery of a 2011 Hewescraft Searunner 220 on 4-1-11. These are probably one of the very toughest boats out there. I fish Lake Ontario, Oneida Lake & the fingers, & after many years of study, I am retiring my Lund Newport 2100 CC for this boat.
  4. an hds8 with sidescan is going on my new hewescraft this April
  5. Honda 8 hp does 12 amps
  6. Make sure you add up the amp draw of the riggers & board motors & then fuse appropriately at the red (+) side of the battery, I am a big fan of breakers, so you can reset them (fuse size must be the size for as many as you might run at once, or you can split the fusing up). Good luck!!!!!!
  7. JR. Thunderstick +'s IMHO: Hooks are very sharp & stronger, body is alot tougher, better color selection, rattle in side them. I stopped using Rapala's after the eyes ate them up, tooth marks all over them, basically destroying them after four or five Quinte eyes. The Quinte eyes seem to like the JR thundersticks just as well. I have never looked back since then. It is kinda like the the fake paint on the Stinger spoons a few years ago (they eventually fixed it, & I have started using them again). Don't think Rapala will fix the their stick baits though, planned obsolescence, create the need & fill it, world class marketing, (always shoot the marketer first)!
  8. It's a coated cable thing, you would not understand! It's a Jeep thing, you would not understand!
  9. The DR & ST are just sooo limiting, get a Fishawk, & move into top of the line electronics & all of these problems are gone!
  10. Your not my type, for sure!!!!!!!!
  11. Nibble, nibble, GULP!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Tim; Go fix your toy!
  13. Love my Fishawk, it has none of this BS at all!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. To each, his own! Good luck to all!
  15. Vince; What do you mean about Lowrance? They just put 65 customer service folks back on & I am gettting a four warranty on the HDS8 I am putting on next month??????????
  16. It is conforting to know that Tim can't get the hang of using the best rigger release out there, as shown by the above unsolicited testimonials! Guess that Tim has to stoop to derogatory comment to get his incorrect points noticed! I say again what really sucks, what do you mean by using this type of comment, Tim??????????? I can't see the relationship between a mechanical line management system & sucking?????????? Sucking must be a term near & dear to you. Please grow up for the second time!!!!
  17. Waaaa Waaaa!!! what really sucks??????
  18. I use them to work 40' & less for walleye off of in line boards on Oneida lake, & they work great. I am pulling Jr thundersticks, don't think they will work too well with a flasher due to the spinning & trolling force from the flasher, but that said, I haven't tried it. Found that using settings deeper than 40 feet really pulls the in line board closer to the boat than I like it to be (too much load). I am going to try them in Olcott this Spring for shallow Kings, using spoons & stick baits. I will be using a short line between the two attachment points on the fish seeker, as I am not sure that the plastic will hold up to a 20 plus pound surging king.
  19. Shimano 8' roller rods have served me well for the last five years. Plus they have a lifetime guarantee, which they honered for me after I broke off one of the roller guides. Got a free replacement, which was super!!!
  20. Those 5 year olds do get a little bigger than our East coast transplants!
  21. What does the manufacturer say about this problem?? I would ask them first! The problem sounds very annoying!
  22. Hey Shark; Was this filmed in the Bay of Quinte? Shure looks like the fish we get there, albeit, ours are not nearly as many or big!
  23. At that speed there will be fewer bassholes on the lakes shortly after they start using them!
  24. Tim; sit down & relax, you are entitled to your opinion for sure (even if it is questionable), but you cannot argue with success, & Blacks releases are the ones to use if you want to maximize hookups, have you forgotten that this is a put & take fishery??? This is beginning to sound like the downspeed & temp foray earlier this year. Let it go!!!!!!!!
  25. What Billy said, the site does not recognize current, valid usrnames or PW's!!!!! Also, Mull said that he had to re register to get write access, so the site is not working properly, as some of the folks have incorrectly said that it was above!!!!!!! Quite clearly, they did not try to post
