Oswego/Scriba area?
Iceman replied to bluewater's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Sorry for the late post!! Launched in Oswego last Monday1/2 hr before sunup (nice sunrise!) & ran a four rigger, two wire line King program that was responsible for 10 to 20 bites per day from Olcott to the bar during the Spring LOC. This program nailed down 20th place in salmon with a 24.3lb king & two other kings were also weighed in (20.3 & 23.13 both bumped off the board). Also ran in line boards with deep thunder sticks & spoons with a 1/2 oz of lead 8' in front of the lure. We fished till 1PM with no bites (8hours of trolling) . First skunk in three years arghh! Saw a few fish in 200' of water down 80 to 120' & some bait off the Nine mile power stations, but the fish all had lockjaw, should have gone after eyes in Oneida! No numbers of fish 150' to 550', as we checked a lot of water (except on the bottom). Did see fish on the bottom from 150' to 300', but did not send the 20lb sharks down for an investigation (next time for sure)!! Hoping things improve, & others post their results for the East end of Lady "O"! Tight lines & wet nets to all! -

Ray; Any pictures of the chrome? -
Get four riggers, it gives you a better chance of creating a spread that will pull in fish from a distance. I run four on my 21'Lund & four balls down works the best!

Grow up Tim, name calling is for kids!

It really helps to use a urine soaked rag on the DR. Better performance & such a sweet fragrance, could be considered aroma therapy by some.

Tom is a great person & he runs his business very professionally. If there is ever an issue with product or service, Tom makes it right & then some!!! I spent approximately $800 with him last year, & it was all great stuff (Fishawk X-4) + flies & pretied leaders, etc, etc!! You won't be disappointed!

Lake Michigan suffered from excessive forage base predation due to overstocking.Their Kings average about 9 lbs, but have gotten a little bigger as of late. Fished out of Sheyboygan 2004 thru 2006. More fish but much smaller. Thirty + kings per day was not uncommon. Biggest king I caught during that period was 22 lbs.

Why give Toyota a break?? They knew that they cheaped out on the equipment they were selling & refused to own up to it, seeking major profits for their company, until they were shamed into it by uncle sam. They still won't admit that they knew the problems were thare for the last 10 years, even though the reports show there was big trouble. Guess they will go to rehab & after 30 days all will be OK, no??? Now their flagship upscale sport ute Lexus is unable to handle sharp turns without skidding out of control, there is no excuse for this with the cost of this vehicle!!! They get zero slack from me, & their cars are still too small!!!

Have been towing a Lund 2100 Newport (around 3,5000 lbs fully loaded) with my 2008 GMC Sierra Dinali crew cab since late 07, it is a great tow vehicle. 12 miles to the gallon @ 65/70 mph on the highway. Plenty of giddyup go with the 403 hp, V-8, all wheel drive & six speed Allison tranny, with a great tow haul mode! With the all wheel drive, all of the power gets to the ground. If you want to get around a slow poke, no problem!!! Was a Ford guy for 30 years, but got sick & tired of driving a severely underpowered truck, which the 5.4 liter is. Time to boycott Toyota for their recent shafting of the people in the good old USA!!! Seems like they have about 50,000,000,000 cars on recall now!

Sounds like someone above is not loving their DR! You get what you pay for!

Should have bought a Fishawk X-4 none of this BS happens with them! There are no funky repairs or upgrades needed to make the X-4 work flawlessly each time & every time!

I have used the Walmart stuff for the last ten years, it is cheapest & does the job!!

Group 31's for $98 @ Sams club. I am just retiring two of them, one is an 05 & the other is an 06, & they ran fine 2 weeks ago Friday & Saturday on Ontario, just want fresh ones. 950 cold cranking amps & sealed. This is the best bang for the buck out there.

I am addicted to Protrolls, & use nothing else (especially the green)!

Oswego Couunty Sherriffs asked us to put ours on yesterday at the mouth of the Oswego river at the lighthouse. Of course we did, & they moved on. I expect that they will start ticketing soon. The new law probably won't save any/many lives, but it will make the bodies easier to find for sure. By the way, they left their boat idling at the dock by itself while they sat on the shore for some time, hard to figure out why, unless they were hoping to charge a battery.
