Jax: Is there an echo in the house????? Look above this two posts.

You should look into the trollmaster for at the helm throttle control (kicker engine speed). I have used one for the last 8 years & would not be without it. It really is difficult to maintain your trolling speed with the twistgrip on the motor. Around $200, haven't looked at them recently, maybe a little more now. Once you have one you will not go back!

What animal would you rather bump into in the woods unarmed?

The NYS government is broken. They can't understand that the budget, staff & programs need to be greatly reduced & or pared down/eliminated. Their answer is always to tax us more. Any business knows how to survive by downsizing, austerity, elimination of waste, and shedding unprofitable endeavours. The political leaders will not make any cost vs benefit evaluations of their pet projects, example the linking of the Erie Canal to the NYS Thruway, what a joke, this waterway costs millions to maintain & only a handful of people use it (count on the Thruway tolls to continue to skyrocket). They could start by eliminating all of the politicians, except the Gov., minority & majority leaders because they decide everything, & no one else has any say. That alone would make a big change in the cost of government. This is a beautiful state, that is being crippled by the bone heads in NYS government. Too many give away programs!!!!! Too many benefits for people who don't work. People move into NY just to collect from the massive benefit structure/programs put in place to insure that the current leadership stays in power. Essentially, these programs insure re-election of the same machine every time. So, here we are in the toilet again, & we are facing a new round of taxes that we all cannot afford!!! Not to mention the unqualified Senators past & wanna be! The candidates I vote for rarely get elected.

Ordered two of the 20lb sharks in black with dimples yesterday, 3 weeks for delivery. Those kings down 200 to 250 will now be available to me, can't wait! Customer service was outstanding. Sent an e-mail to them @ 6AM & had a done deal by 8 AM with Suzanne. She was great to work with!!! For Stan; Just set the shallow alarm on your fishfinder to 10 or 20 feet below your deepest rigger, & let the electronics watch the depth, so you can be safer with changing bottom depths. We have the same "canyon" situation out here with the Finger Lakes in Central NY with the bathtub shape of the bottom on five lakes up to 600' deep.

Big John rod holders don't have all that hardware to mess with, fall off, or come loose & can be adjusted with one hand, which comes in handy sometimes. I have 12 total on my boat & some of them have been around for a long time with 0 problems. The more hardware on the unit, the more problems you will definately have. Allen wrench required to set the desired attitude of the rod holder, give me a break! Big John got rid of that concept at least 20 years ago!

Double; Thanks for setting me straight, got any strip loins left over??? Love venison, but don't hunt anymore. If you took ten shoulders over, weren't they attached to 5 deer?
-
I thought you could only take one deer per license?

Carp; Your post did not mention keeping the fish caught. My buddy does not keep any of the fish he catches from there. Thanks to General Electric. This fishery is a bunch of fun though for P.C.R. Let us know how you make out.

One of my friends was doing walleyes & stripers at the dam above Troy. They were casting from shore & jiggin it back in to the shore. He is on vacation now so I can't get more detail for you. But the fish ran in the 5 to 20Lb range. I bet a bait shop in Troy or in the surronuding area can hook you up with the details.

Nice to see them return to winning. But the big news is the demolition of the Titans by Brett & the Jets! Hope the Bills can keep it up!!!

California Fish & Game Sued by Stanford Law Students

I can see the wanna be pinhead lawers from Stanford just wetting their pants with glee over this one. They have pi$$ed off a bunch of folks who fish for sport. I am with Tim B. on this one, & this why I always say that CA is the land of fruits & nuts!!! This is another example of it. Just like the unanomus vote against same gender marriage there, now the gay's want to fight the decision in court. Remember OJ?? They finally got him too! Just lovely!!!! -
UOK: What is the warranty from the reel maker?? I would think that they would be sensitive to your problems with their product? Talking with the factory might have shed some light on a problem or recall on this reel. At least you would have had the chance for discovery about your reel. I make a practice of never buying an extended service/warranty for anything, more than likely you will never need it, unless you buy the same product that had an infant failure, well maybe then??? It is good that you can start with a fresh reel, & good luck!!!

Blacks for salmon & trout, chamberlins for walleyes.

Some of the folks here are tight lipped, as can be seen by all the views on the posts I have been doing with photo's. There are more eye's in Oneida than can be caught. If you think that is not true, go to the Constantia hatchery when they are harvesting the eggs. Take a walk up to the dam & see the wall to wall eyes just finning in the current.

Can you say wide "right" , again!!!!! This team is an embarrasment to the other New York Teams!!!!!

I don't normally fish Oneida much in the Spring, but they are still there, & it seems like the jig & minnow, nightcrawler, leech approach is used more this time of the year. I am fishing Lake Ontario almost exclusively in the Spring. I fish for the eyes after I quit on lake Ontario in September. The Eyes go on their fall feeding frenzy at this time, although it was much later this year. Maybe somone will answer your post with more detail for the Spring. John

Stan; How's the smoke up there? Did Oprah's castle burn down with all of the trailers yesterday?
