After a week off to fish the Oswego pro am we were back at it on Cayuga this weekend. Had 2 great trips with awesome guests! There is good fishing for silvers from Kingtown beach all the way to Sheldrake but you have to weed thru the little ones to get a good fish or 2. 80 to 150 fow, pinks, greens and purples are working. Lakers mixed in there too. My summer honey hole is producing the largest laker catch all on green pro trolls with big weenie pole dancer flies. The lakers there are averaging 7 to 10 lbs. Fish are biting all day guys so dont give up at 10:00. The weeds were manageable but the fleas are the worst I have ever seen. I spliced in some 50lb big game and that did the trick. Good Luck and Tight Lines to all. Captain RR

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS =================== Went right back to my spot from sat and had just got the 500 copper and 1 dipsy out and they both fire with majors. We dropped 1 but landed the big one 24lbs and change. We proceeded to pick away all day and ended up with a decent box. Enough to win the comeback award. This is the best fishing for kings I have ever seen in early july. Everything was coming on green pro trolls with big weenie green flies. Kevorkian spoons off the riggers 30 back set in the 55 degree water was good too. We had a great time and look forward to next year. RR [ Post made via Android ]

So were pretty excited for sat. Got up this morning to a pretty rough lake and proceeded to drop 10 screamers. Landed 6 skippies 17 inches. Came in with a zero. The lake laid down at about noon. Hi hopes for the comeback award! I think we were the only boat with a zip. Just kept dropping em. Not many full boxes so its still up for grabs for everyone but us. I'll post back tomorrow. I've got my eye on a new ride but have to sell the islander 221v first if someone is interested. 4.3 v6 200hp. Comes loaded with all raymarine electronics. Gps, sonar, radio, auto pilot and depth raider. High stand up top with curtains and mooring cover. Also has regular cover. 2 scotty riggers electric will be included. Brand spanking new radar/rocket launcher with planer reels and 12 rod holders. Professionaly maintained and runs excellent. No issues. 14k firm. Trailer with.surge brakes excellent condition also included. Ok I've put a deposit down on a new boat. Need to sell my beloved islander. The only reason im selling is my charter business has taken off beyond what I expected and after doing many trips out of the islander I realize I need a larger boat. Average book is 13.5 k and this boat is in better shape than average and all the goodies come with it. [ Post made via Android ]

I didn't have a trip today but I decided to go out for a bit solo this morning and try a different spot force silvers. Set up with a 2 rod set. 1 rigger parked @ 55 degrees which was 40 down with an r&r black and purple. The otreher was a 300 copper with a green metallic r&r. Both rods were firing consistently with a few salmon in the 18 to 20 inch range. I was working 100 to 150 ft of water when the rigger fires and the rod went straight down with the 10lb test screaming off the reel! The fish took out over 100 ft of line and just bull dogged me for about 20 min. The net was up in the cabin! I finally got the fish to the back of the boat and grabbed it. To my surprise it was a personal best 39 inch, 18 lb laker! Just an incredible specimen! Got her revived and sent back. Seconds later the copper fires with another good one! That one ended up around 12 lbs. Called it a day at 9:00. What a morning! Good luck out there. RR [ Post made via Android ]

3 ROD / PERSON...............PASSED IN BOTH HOUSES
rustyrat replied to lyteline's topic in Open Lake Discussion
It will be very helpful to me when I only have a 2 person charter. I'll be able to run the cores and copper with out having to employ a mate for the extra rods. [ Post made via BlackBerry ] -
Fished from sheldrake to kingtown beach. Very good laker fishing off the 70 rigger and the the wires. Cores were dead again. High riggers produced tons of those pesky small salmon. Just can't keep them off even when switching to larger spoons. Weeds and cotton wood were quite the pain to keep the rods clean. Black and purple R&R spoons along with the protolls pulling big weenie green dot flies did the damage. The good news is the fish have moved into my summer honey hole. I just hope they stay there for a while. Tight lines and good fishing to all. Captain Scott [ Post made via BlackBerry ]

Rod cut it all off and put an arch and a soft top on her. Quick and easy. Lot less headache and cash. Lol. Good luck. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
