  1. No fleas yet, its COTTONWOOD! PITA! Its all over the place, my yard and boats looked like it had snowed. What a mess. Water needs to be in the 70's for fleas. Don't worry, they're coming! RR
  2. Thats the beauty of it. whats your strategy? Sometime the bown guys get it but there are days where the guy who went after kings comes up big. An its not that easy to box out on browns in july. Especially when you can't fish very very early. RR
  3. Water is still too cold for me to tube but the kids don't care! I'll be out sat and sun morning. RR
  4. where are you fishing? RR
  5. I use a good quality swivel and then put i big snap on the ring of the swivel. I attach the ball to the snap. 5 ft leader on the swivel. No snubber no dropper. Works great. RR
  6. I believe there were 8 boats in it. I believe it did take away from the am entries as they were down this year quite a bit from last year. Don't know if its the economy or the fact that there are now 4 pro ams instead of 2 and some ams only pick 2 to fish. Or 1 like me. I used to be able to do 2, but there is now way i can afford 4. My wife would kill me not to mention I have a lake house on Cayuga. Whats the point of living on Cayuga if your not there for 6 weekends out of the summer!??? Pro/ams/ spring loc fall loc etc! RR
  7. I've got about 2 dozen of those Zeke!
  8. I ran copper all weekend. I had to make 2 sharp turns and funged it up in the wire dipsys twice. I'll run my thumper from now on. I've caught a lot of kings on the thumper and never hung it in any other rig. RR
  9. Friday: Worked the fence north and south had a 12 lb king and cohos, took fish on just about everything we put out. Deep! 120 on the riggers and 325/400 wires. I had a great screen and the kings were there DEEP. Sat: went straight out of wilson set up in 200 worked out to 280. Had a great screen at 220, hooked up a king on a spoon down 125 and dropped it. went thru that 220 area 2 more times and screen went blank. Pulled and ran to the fence again. Only one there! did 6 cohos and things were looking good by 10:00 I was invaded! Put the fish off and never got another one. Ok went to weigh in, looking like 8th after day one. Good, not out of it yet. 2 good fish off the lead. Sun; ran back to the fence, figured i'd try to box out with cohos. Put out a coho program, Bang 3 fish right off the bat. once again only one there. Got invaded again and put the fish off. There was soooo much bait out there (smelt) Those kings must have been stuffed full. They were there again DEEP and not willing to play. At 11:00, fishless since 8:00 we decided to run 14 miles in 3 to 5 footers east of wilson and try to salvage the day. Got there at 12:10, set up the coho program and proceeded to wack 4 more in 35 min. If I had 20 more min, I would have boxed out and taken 6th. BUT I DIDN"T! so it was 11th for us. I learned a lot this weekend. Thanks Glen for the tip. I have a feeling that the tip Glen gave me might really put me over the edge for the Cayuga LOU. So look out Cayuga guys! Had a great time! Just so you guys don't get cornfused my boats name is Blue Moon. RR
  10. I think there are a few incorrect entries from Gregs post on the AM side. I believe this to be correct. http://www.olcottfishing.com/proamniagara09am.htm We took 11th. Just needed 2 more! argh! Had a great time. congrats to the winners. RR
  11. I love cats, just can't eat a whole one! Wow what a field! Got my work cut out for me this year! RR
  12. Me too!
  13. Did you try to re calibrate it? Try that first. Then check the connection to the flux gate. The alarm means its off course. Was it going beep beep beep/ beep beep beep? RR
  14. I'm using 13's no problems. RR
  15. Yes good luck to all! I'm leaving tomorrow. So far the weather looks ok! RR
  16. The water is 55 degrees. For sure you can still catch trout from shore. I reccomend fishing large minnows off a bobber down 8 to 15 ft, white 3/4 oz jigs or white rooster tails. RR
  17. To get beat by a young boy running his own boat and his own program would be AOK in my book! RR
  18. Lake is starting to set up. Should be good in a few weeks. I did Ok. Fished deep for suspended lakers and got into em. RR
  19. I'm not worried! Lots of new comers, they just don't understand what kind of a beat down I've been handing you guys for the past 2 years! RR
  20. Well I would be very afraid of Chowder if it was just a laker tourny! But its not! RR
  21. Naaaaa. Someone out there knows I have the skills! RR
  22. Cause I'm special! RR
  23. Robert, Its always slow this time of year. The lake is still very cold. The bluegills aren't even in yet! Uniform temp thruout except for the south end. Once the thermocline sets up it will be game on! RR
  24. Hmmm 50/50 so far and my friends don't even know about the poll! lol Let me know what you need Scott. I can make stuff or buy stuff. Good thing the LOU all wasn't held last week! Right now I can't buy a fish. RR
