The biggest fish came on the cut bait (Atomik 3-Fly rigs for heads) but I think think we were pretty close between the two. I had problems with the wire for a little while (1 fish broke the wire we lost everything, 2nd fish hit while we were putting it out and bird nested the reel only lost the spinnie & fly on that one).
I caught this fish off Oswego the last week of May. We were over 125' of water down 25' back 50' with the Dreamweaver Magnum Habenero. 12 Lb. Atlantic Salmon that I am thinking about having mounted.
The kings are definitely back off Oswego. We went 11 for 15 on Saturday and 5 for 5 on Sunday morning. Couldn't get a spoon to move all weekend, so we used Oki Kingfishers w/cutbait on the riggers and flasher flies on the dipsey's. Anywhere from 120' to 200' of water from 80' to 125' down. I placed my first fish on the leader board this weekend after trying for the past 10 years. It was in 5th place when I weighed it but has already dropped to 8th. I don't think it will last to the end but it is nice to be there after so long.
Fish Magnet II is not ready to bring up to Oswego yet so I took out the Fish Magnet a little closer to home. We went 3/5 on trout with 8 pickerel added in. The planer boards were slow only taking 1 pickerel and 1 lost trout. The downriggers were set at 5' down 100' back with Michigan Stinger spoons. Speed was between 1.8-2.0 SOG on the GPS. Hot spoon was a red\orange with green tape, I think it is called a Jaw Breaker but not sure. We got 2 lakers 4.3 &10.9lbs and 1 brown 3.1lbs, the big laker is the biggest one we have ever caught out of that lake. All in all a good first day out for the season.

I tried the Berkley Gulp in the herring color last August and never got a release on it. I was running another meat rig with cut bait and did catch fish with it. But I'll keep it on the boat for just in case.

I have one that I bought the first year they came out matched up with a Penn 875LC. The pole is a little wimpy but I have caught a lot of salmon on it. I beef up to 30lb. test line when the fleas come out and have never had a problem. I also like the butt on it really soft rubber so it doesnt bruise your stomach when fighting a fish for 20 minutes.
