  1. John, we got the cutbait from captains cove, It has held up for us pretty good. It is the fish on cut bait. I am off all week. I fished today again out in front of Braddocks went 2 for 3 1st king was 24 and 2nd was high teens. both fish came on the downriggers 90 ft down over 140. Both fish were caught on a moonshine black and silver spoon.
  2. Setup west of russel and trolled west to Braddocks did not see much of a picture.first fish came on a big weenie proctologist fly on the wire in 150 fow out 180 ft on a 2.5 setting. While fighting that fish the rigger went down 100 ft with a 7" glow green e-chip flasher rigged with fish on cutbait. Baitholder was glow green. Fly took a 21 lb king and the cutbait took a 27 lb'er. We did not get another fish until 11:30 which was a 20 lb king on ghde same cutbait setup. Fishing was slow but the fish we did catch were nice. Decided to fish again tomorrow out of rochester before going back to port bay to pre fish the fairhaven challenge.
  3. That was not nice. Here is ther picture of the 24 lb'er.
  4. Fished out of Genny today for the first time all year. Fished in 80- 100 fow went 10 for 13 largest king being 24 lbs and the rest middle to upper teens. Wires had all the action today dispey's were set at 2.5 and .5. All fly bites. Hot fly was the big weenie proctologist. Back to Port bay tomorrow.

  15. Anyone know of any places around that fix rods. Have some rods that the inner ring on the guides have come off. Was going to do it myself but have never attempted it before.
  16. I was talking to a guy in Michigan yesterday and he was saying they are having the same problem in Lake Michigan the fishing has not been good this year due to the winds and the flooding they have had. The water is just starting to clear up from the flooding and the debris is bad, a charter boat out there hit a garage door floating in the water and had to be towed in, he was out and almost hit a 6 ft propane tank. At least we don't have that stuff going on in lake ontario. A week before the wayne pro am we were pre fishing Sodus and port bay and saw a lot of bait and were catching a good # of fish of decent size. I just think mother nature has caused these fish to scatter, seems like everytime I see the weather report the wind is s/sw or w/sw. Can't remember the last time we had a NW wind. trying my luck again this weekend will post report if any
  17. Heading out this weekend out of Port bay planning on working shallow water first for browns and then will venture out for kings. Will you guys be on channel 68?
  18. Glad they stopped that snagging. No offense to anyone that did it but it was a war zone especially down at the Genny. Wait what I am saying that has not stopped.
  19. I remember talking to you about that friday night at the meeting. I can't figure it out. there is not 1 nic in that wire.
  20. I am losing my signal on my depth raider once I get over 100ft. I connected the cable directly to the probe which I thought was supposed to be the best signal. Anyone else experiencing this?
  21. I did but to the specific one i am looking at I could not get much info. Could not find any prices on them either. I am looking at a used one
  22. Anyone every use these reels? Never heard of them. Looking at one but cannot find any details on them.
  23. pierless,my boat name is hideout. So when you are out give me a shout. After our pro am performance though you may want to think twice about calling me on the water.
  24. I believe it is at the fire hall in Sodus point. Don't quote me thoughit might of changed from last year
  25. I second that the last couple of weeks we have been fishing late afternoon until just before dark and have had better luck. Fished Saturday in the morning and it was slow.
