  5. Vince & Brian, I couldn't find anything on VC18 on the Interlux site. Anyways it looks like I'm going with the VC17. Thanks for the replies. John
  6. Has anyone used this VC 17m on their hull? I need to get the bottom stripped, epoxied, and painted. I know the blow boaters use the VC 17m for speed. If anyone has used it does it need to be repainted every year if used in freshwater? Does it come off if the boat is loaded on a trailer? Is it that much more slippery where you'll see your speed increase? Just trying to decide between this and an Ablative paint. Thanks for the help. John
  7. PD Bouy, Yes it is sitting in my basement. I never removed the antenna from the boat but the head unit is in the basement. Make me an offer. John
  8. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Late start yesterday, started fishing around 7:30 and lasted til 11:30 am. Did one 6# king in 120 fow, marked quite a few off of Russel in there but couldn't get them to go. Moved out to 300 fow off Braddock's and doubled on steelies. Kept trolling out to about 520 fow. Had steelies and skippers the whole way. Ended up 15 for 17. Fish were coming on everything from Gators to flasher flies. The larger steelies were 75 ft. on the cable and the skippers and small steelheads were 90 ft. + down. The small steelhead were really tough to revive. Usually we were just unhooking them without netting or touching them but a few where having trouble getting back down. Not sure if it's having a treble hook in the top and bottom of their mouth or the 74 degree water on top. Either way I know there was a couple of floaters in there which sucks to see, especially with the steelhead. Couldn't get any larger fish to go, but we did have two steelhead in the 8-9 lb. range. Man they can jump. We'll see what today's 9 footers do to the lake. May be fishing off the pierheads when the weather breaks. Good Fishing! John
  9. Nice job Chris, we were hanging off Long Pond in 200-250 fow. We were something like 12 for 20 or so. We got kind of a late start and fished from 8-11:30. Now that I think about it we did a domestic rainbow, steelhead, coho, laker and a bunch of kings. The largest king was 19#, but we had a few in the teens. The show of the day was a 11.3# steelhead, hit the free slider down 87 ft. and was out of the water before we could grab the rod. He jumped over the center copper 3 times. What a mess. I also donated exactly 195 ft. of wire, dipsey, spin dr, and fly to a small king. I know this because in an earlier tangle I noticed a kink in the wire at 195 ft. I was stupid and sent it back out. Now I'm $50 poorer.... The currents down our way were running east to west at up to 1 mph. This kind of wreaked havoc when my 12 yr old would man the wheel. Awesome time though! Good Fishing!!! John
  10. Do a search for Dick Wood's Yacht Sales. It is a 1988 for $10,500. Good Luck. John
  11. Angle, What direction out of Rochester did you head? We ran up towards Webster and worked between 45-210 fow. We went 5 for 8 with the largest being a 14# king. No real program but the bites all came 50-70 ft. down on spoons. Nice to get out for a few hours in the morning. My first time on the water since knee surgery in May. Good Fishing. Joh
  12. Greg, I have triples on bases. They seem to be a little high for most people on my boat. Especially pulling a 10ft. wire rod going the other way. If you did them in a track that would lower them about 4 inches and might work better on the wires. I know they make open rod holders now for wires. The adjustability of them is awesome. Very well made and I think worth the money. John
  13. Selling a 10" Raychart 620 Plus Chartplotter. The unit is approximately 10 years old. I'm upgrading my electronics so this has to go. I have the Jeppesen NT+ Lake Ontario chip for the unit. This chip has great detail and was just purchased last year. The unit also comes with an external antenna. Everything is in good working order and currently mounted on my boat. Asking $250 or best offer. Please call with any questions. Thanks for looking, John 585-469-1923
  14. Thanks guys. I'll get the credit card warmed up. John
  15. Are they new this year Paul? This is the first I saw of them. How do they compare to the Shimano Tekotas? John
  16. Anyone try these reels yet? The 55 series has more line capacity than the Tekota 800 and their 6.2:1 gear ratio might make reeling in those long coppers nice. I just saw them on FishUSA. Thanks, John
  17. Chris, I brought a Grady back from Boston in the fall of 1999. I ran the boat all last year and the only problem was the fuel gage went on the reserve tank. The twin outboards ran good all year. The boat spent 10 years in salt. Make sure you have a good surveyor but for what I saved over a fresh water vessel I think it was more than worth it. I hope I just didn't jinx myself. John
  18. Rob, Another problem with mono dipsey's is once you get them 150-200 ft. or more out they become hard to trip and reset due to the stretch in the mono. John
  19. Thanks for the help guys. My boat is 30 ft. so trailering is out of the question. I figured we'd grab a campsite in July/August time frame if anything was available, for us and some friends but I'd need a boat dock for the boat. Power at the dock would be great. I thought the Bluff's Park had closed last year with all of the cutbacks?
  20. Does anyone know if Fairhaven State Park Campgrounds has boat dockage? If not how far is the nearest marina, can you walk there? Does Sodus Bay have any state campgrounds? Thanks, John
  21. I need to replace my windows in my canvas. Anyone know of a good canvas man/woman. I think the windows are Strataglass currently. Local to Rochester would be great. Also looking to have the bolsters in the cockpit re-upolstered. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, John
  22. Fishin Again, Did you come out of Braddocks? How's the channel? John
  23. Must have a 10,500# capacity or more. Must be able to handle a 30 ft. boat x 10.5ft. beam. Thanks, John
  24. Tom, Ordered some stuff on Thursday, came into Rochester on Friday. Looks like your still the fastest out there. Unless of course you have someone drive it to my house the same day. Thanks, John
  25. Ran from the river. I have to believe Braddock's Channel is at least 3 ft. deep with the way the Genny has been rising. I'm 1 1/2 ft. higher in my slip than I was a month ago. John
