Yes, sorry about that. It was 110 feet back on the diver, and 170 back on the board lines. John

Headed out today with a couple of friends. Didn't get going until after 8...one guy didn't get out of work until then...fished until 11:45. We did fair, plus a couple of jack perch. 110 diver with silver chattersticks. 170 power pro board lines with 20 jets and harnesses. Heard a good report using 40 jets. West of the harbor.... Anyone that is interested can get my blog (www.timestwocharters.com) emailed to them directly when I post (thanks Chad!!). Go to my site, blogs, instructions are on there. Back out Sat/Sun..... John

W.W.IV. Thanks. I run bags when trolling. I should clarify....I meant that it seems to roll more when under power in rough water....like if you're coming in the troughs. My last boat was the same size, but not a hard top, and not as deep a vee...... JOhn

I was in the search mode about a year and half ago or so. I narrowed by choices to a Pro-line, Seaswirl, Parker and Sportcraft. Utimately settled on the 'swirl...which I have been very happy with. It has the "t-top" style hardtop, as opposed to a full blown regular hardtop like the sportcraft would have had. Would have loved a Parker but couldn't find anything used that wasn't salt use, then got a great deal on the 'swirl as a new "leftover". The only real thing I had problems with was adjusting to the extra "roll" the hardtop seems to add in rough seas...but we're working on that! John

French River, Ontario report
times two replied to times two's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
PizzaBoy: Good Luck! The road into Hartley Bay is mostly gravel , mostly good. They got 700K to make improvements, so there are a couple of spots under construction. Hartley Bay guys are nice, and will give you the straight scoop. I get to do lots of great fishing each year....as work permits from S. Carolina to French River. French River is by far my favorite place!! Please post a report on how you do,,,, John -
Ray....my team opted not to fish the southtowns, but we'll be around and out. Feel free to pass on any info, though...we go for reel on the 28th! My friend Capt Bud (Alibi) is going to be in Barcelona for the week, so that should give us a pretty good idea of what's coming! E dock, Ray.

Ray...all is quite here..... Took a shakedown Sunday....55 fow straight out...60 on the surface, 53 30 foot down By all accounts, if you had 1-2 fish you did well. I know a couple of other capts. that ran this weekend...I heard 1 had 3, 1 had none. Its just a tad early and we need a couple of days of heat....come on Mother Nature...!! My pal Bud is going to be in Barcelona for the next week, so I should be able to get some reports off that..... Also, I intend to post regularly again here....but there is a way off my new site to get via email any blogs I put up too.... check that out at www.timestwocharters.com I have had a couple of you guys email me that last week or so...keep that coming... I have no issue helping out if I can.... John

French River, Ontario report
times two replied to times two's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
Pizzaboy: We did not run the rapids. River was high enough too, but why bother? We had awesome fishing right where we were. Pretty much every area we went to we got fish. Particularly Crombie Bay, but the water was way up, and dropped about 6 inches while we were there, and I would guess more by now. Imp size Daredevles, red and white, by far the number 1 bait. 8-10 fow. Really just hit any place that has an weeds/structure..... We haven't done so in years, but we had such a great time we're thinking about going back in September once I'm done chartering here.... John -
If I'm not mistaken, the rules are phasing in....and don't affect most boaters until September. The other curious piece....I got 4 different answers so far....is does that fact Ihave a Coast Guard License here, override the need to take the test???

Ray....just got back from northern ontario....but.... according to the local paper, guys at night west have been doing good, and I talked to another dunkirk captain today that said he had heard of a good day catch over the weekend. The LO boys are all coming back this way the next few days, and I'm dropping in this weekend, so I would suspect that I'll have better information soon.... John

Well, just back from our annual pike fishing trip to Northern Ontario. Wow! Our group of 6 landed 380 northerns in 3.5 days of fishing..nothing super big, but we had 49 over 22" long, and 4 or 5 in the 7-8" range. The average size was probably 19-20". Stayed again at the French River Lodge on the lower river. Now, weather permitting....time to get the big boat in the slip for walleye this weekend! John

Okay, fellow LOU members and country music fans....here's the skinny.... As I mentioned in a post a week or two back, I have a friend named Sean Patrick McGraw who has been working hard for years to make it in the world of country music. As I posted, he has a video now on CMT, called "Dollar Ain't Worth a Dime". Supposed to air on TV on Monday (5/18) but it has been released on the internet side.... http://www.cmt.com/videos/sean-patrick- ... dime.jhtml As I understand it, it greatly helps him with this song ,and for the future if we get everyone clicking and playing it! So if you would like to check it out, please go to the link and give it a shot! John

wilson report 5/2
times two replied to times two's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Ray... I actually meant to put this under the south shore report...but muffed that... little bit early yet here on Erie. so that gives me time to play at LO and up in Canada later this month. Hoping to get back to Wilson next week....tough work week this week..... CBish....yeah, no screamers yesterday....had one other nice one on that we lost but we didn't think it was much bigger then the ones in the photo...I'm thinking just a few more days till they start up...what do you think? John -
Took a ride up to Wilson on Saturday to derby fish with a couple of friends of mine. Had a great day on a beautiful lake (except for those darn litle black flies) Had a mixed bag of coho's and kings, with one steelhead to boot. 4 kings went around 15 lbs. 30-40-55 riggers were good, DW (regular) 42 second spoons, and the DW double crush were good for us; also the coho killer flasher (in red) with small blue flies of the 5 color on inline boards was good. We fished 6-7 miles west of Wilson, outside waters (just outside of the pack) 140-220 fow. We were kicking right along 3.2-3.7 over ground.

wanted-scrap piece of starboard
times two replied to times two's topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
Thanks A-tom-mik.... Guess that might be the way to go...... -
I know this is a bit off topic, but with all the doom and gloom out there I thought I'd share some good news about a friend of mine..... His name is Sean Patrick McGraw, born and raised in my neck of the woods, and a friend of mine that occasionally gets on the boat or trips up north with me. He's been earning a living the hard way, traveling a ton, and singing his songs.... Anyway, he told me today that he has cut a video for a song called "Dollar Aint Worth a Dime", basically about a guy struggling in today's world, that is scheduled to be released on CMT on May 15th. Very cool!! He also has song he co-wrote with 2 other canadian singers (Deric Ruttan and Aaron Prichett) entitled "Hell Bent for Buffalo", that at last report was #16 on the Canadian singles chart. So if you happen to catch the video, you'll know Sean in a WNYer! John

Say it aint so about Passports in June
times two replied to BP Swing's topic in Open Lake Discussion
For flying, the passport rules are already in force. For June 1, for road travel you either need a passport or the enhance license. This is an American rule, coming back in, not for going over.... John -
