  1. I had previously posted about ETECs, turns out that the motor is actually a 225 DFI. Anyone have experience with these? Thanks. John
  2. Traveling man: Take a look at my Larson in the selling tab. Might meet your needs. John
  3. Borderline: I here what you're saying about the trolling speed. But even with the i/o I have now, I actually will run a bag, and then bump up the rpms a touch. Uses more gas, but I was told once that its better for making sure everything is circulating as intended. Figure to do the same on this boat. Knock on wood, no problems as a result.....
  4. I know its not what you want, but I have 3 Okuma Magda Pro 30's available that I would be willing to give a package price on.....
  5. Got a deal going on a boat with a 225 ETEC. Everything I've seen has been good, but had a guy tell me today that they will not take the extended trolling hours well, much like the old 2 strokes.
  6. Looking for any pros or cons on the bigger (225) etec's..... John
  7. Revised 2/24/08: 4 Okuma 7' 1 piece Blue Diamond BDC-701 rods. 3 are excellent, $25 each. The 4th is in excellent condition other than it needs a new top guide $20.00. Buy all 4 and I'll go $80 plus shipping. 3 Okuma Magda Pro 30Dx Linecounters, used 2 seasons $30 each. 1 Charter Choice 9' planner rod model $20. John
  8. FOR SALE: 1990 22' Larson International DC-228 walkaround cuddy 5.7 L mercruiser tandem axle ez-loader Full stand up top/side/back (new in 2006) Mooring cover cockpit cover new cabin cushions (2007) AM/FM/CD stereo (new 2007) Asking $11,700.00 John 716-785-3088
  9. Thank you but as you suspected, I'm not looking for a 21'. I do have a very preliminary deal in the works on a 23 so hopefully it will fly! John
  10. I agree with Billy V....if it comes with it I leave it on. 'Bout the only changes I made were last year on some of the new Dreamweaver Super Slims we were changing out the hooks for slightly larger ones, based upon the success of another local captain.... John
  11. Ray: I have no idea what they would charge or whatever, but have you tried Wiley's or 4 C's? I've used both places when I've been up there and they have both treated me well.... John
  12. I have a deal pending on the the dipsey combos. Thank you. All remaining rods and reels are still available. The LOTSA show is a 1 day show being sponsored in Lockport NY by the Lake Ontario Salmon and Trout Association. For more details, please check it on the web at www.lotsa.org. John
  13. Heading into season 4 with Fishlanders. I've been very happy other than no auto stop. John
  14. I have the following for sale: 2 Daiwa SK750HGL dipsey rods (10'/6") with twili tips, and each with a Daiwa Great Lakes 47 LC. Loaded with about 950 ft of 30lb 7 strand that was new last May. $60 each. 4 Okuma 7' 1 piece Blue Diamond BDC-701 rods. 3 are excellent, $30 each. The 4th is in excellent condition other than it needs a new top guide $25.00. 3 Okuma Magda Pro 30Dx Linecounters, used 2 seasons $35 each. 1 Charter Choice 9' planner rod model $20. All of these will be at the LOTSA show unless I sell them first, so if you are interested that would be a way to save shipping. John
  15. Thanks for the tip, Paul. We ran them with the blue they came with, plus 1 red bead. Really liked how they looked in the water. John
  16. I've grown to love the siggs when we're up at the oak in August. The Aqua Crinkle was new to us last year and we ended up either having them so beat up by the kings or losing them to breakoffs. It changes its appearance depending on light. Behind a white/glow spin doc.
  17. At the front end of a casual search for the next boat. Looking to move up a hair to a 23 Seaswirl o/b. Not sure I am ready to take on the cost of new, but would be interested in anything above 2003. Want the hardtop. Doing the internet thing, have found a lot with saltwater use, very few with freshwater only. Appreciate it if you guys can keep your eyes open.....
  18. YT.... Please share...what are you looking at? Also, did you forward your info to the guy on the GL site that was looking? John
  19. I'd say it was either made by arbogaster or heddon.
  20. Billy.... Those boots look good but aren't they slick on the non-skid, plus black marks? For warm weather I have a pair of columbia pfg's, breathable and comfortable. John
  21. Hey guys...looking to get some new footwear for the cold weather days on LO and LE. My boat has the non-skid floor, which actually does get slick depending on the style of shoes.... SO what do you guys wear and recommend?
  22. I know that this isn't necessarily fishing related, but I thought I would throw a plug in for the work of BlueEye. As many of you know, in addition to the great work he has done for the LOU site, he also does other web work/design. For my own charter site, I was in need of making a bunch of relatively minor changes to the site content, plus the need to refresh the site with some new features, pictures etc. After some discussion, and many emails and pms back and forth, Chad finished up my site today. Some of the highlights include the addition of the widget, as well as a direct link from my site to the fishing reports section. Very, very happy with his prompt replies, and his willingness to work thorough all of my issues. I would highly recommend him to any of you in need of web design, etc. Thanks again Chad. John
  23. pennfish: Did you get the pics and would you like me to get the details you had inqired about? John
