  3. The bottom of my boat is painted with Abaltive Copolymer paint. The kind that will rub off on your hand. Anyway, I'm at the point that it needs to be completely repainted, and the marina soaked me last time, so I'm going to try it myself this time. I know that the surface has to be sanded....I'm wondering if this is basically just to "scuff" it or does it really need to be taken down? Anyone have tips on this? Thanks.

  17. Will be at the Conservation Club, foot of North Mullet Street West end of Dunkirk Harbor. Turn by the Country Fair store. If you have any questions, I guess you could run them through me. No set format or anything like that. Last year we had about 10-12 guys set up tables.
  18. Thanks guys. I got the replacement flaps last year at a marine store and they were too stiff to work correctly. I know the ones with the balls, and have been thinking about that. I have 1 pump in the aft and another midships, so a 3rd would be just for emergency. I think I'm really leaning towards blocking it, and the sheet metal would probably be the best bet....something like a piece of tin? Alumimun siding? John
  19. My boat has scuppers, just above the waterline. When I get several big guys in the back, the flaps don't close tight enough to make a complete seal, so I get some water coming in. Also, had the rear bilge fail last year and once the rainwater filled that up enough to weigh the boat down, water came in as well. Darn near had a major problem. Anyway, I thinking of blocking the scuppers and going with a second rear bilge. Looking for a thin material to replace the flaps with that would seal, and also stand up to sun and water. Any ideas? John
