If it is an open bow I would mount them on the bow. The higher the better. If it isnt an open bow then you dont want to be crawling up there in 4 fters to reel them in. Otter boats are great. IMO well worth it. As far as electric reels. I'ts a luxury but there is always someone on the boat who thinks they are fun to reel in,
I had a chance to test this over the last week. It works flawlessy. I tried it first through the ice but since I was only fishing 24 feet of water it it didnt show me a whole lot. lol Talked a buddy into running me out on the big pond and I got it down to 300 feet of water. It showed me the temp every 5 ft perfect to the tenth of a degree. You can drop it on a rigger, a fishing pole, a string, whatever you wish to. This thing is pretty darn cool and I was amazed at how small it was.
He is really is an outstanding guy. VERY down to earth, it was like we were just fishing. Cracks jokes, busts balls. The kinda guy that is just like his personality on tv. It was alot of fun Perch predator
I want to buy some mr champs. I use them for jigging. Take a look you might have some laying around and not know it. They are not kast masters
I prefer 1/2 0z and 3/4 in brass or gold. http://www.johnnyspond.com/luhr-jensen- ... poons.html
I just got back from Canada where I was part of a crew from g2 that was shooting a tv show for http://www.realfishing.com with Bob Izumi. I dont know how many of you have ever heard of Bob but he is a Canadian Legend. We spent 2 days on the ice fishing from about 7-11am and 2-5 pm each day. We managed over 60 fish and 16 over 10 lbs. Many fish in the 5-9lb range. A truly fun time with some great guys. The last picture is a video so just click on it. The episode should air this coming march I will keep you updated. I am getting some 2-3 day packages together if folks are interested
This here is a camera phone video while the real video is going on- click on it

Fly, Eagles fly,
On the road to victory.
Fight, Eagles fight,
Score a touchdown 1, 2, 3.
Hit 'em low, hit 'em high,
And watch our Eagles fly.
Fly, Eagles fly,
On the road to victory.
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!
A 6 inch auger isnt a problem f you are going for panfish, Start whacking 10 in holes for trophy walleye. Yes Headed to the Bay this weeke to fish hardwater
I spoke with a bunch of guys that use them, they said out of a 24v systemn you can get about 30-60 holes no problem on a charged battery. One advantage is no spillage. Check these guys out http://www.icegator.com/
I did some research on these over the weekend at the syracuse ice fishing show, i hear good things but get a 24 v one not the one that attaches to a drill. also if u use a 4 wheeler and ur battery dies u can hook up to that
Definately agreed Tim, but if if I am about to put 2300+ worth of downriggers and I am having trouble making up my mind between two companies. I just want to know fully what I am getting into. If I were buying a new tow vehicle and one is claiming the best fuel mileage period and the other says no we do. Is it not fair as na consumer to find out?
Yes I watched the video, do you think Scotty could release this if it werent true? I have no affiliation with either rigger I'm just curious and have you tested your rigger speeds?
