Unless it has changed in the last 2 years no one needs to sign for your hours on the water. They give you one sheet and it takes 5 minutes to fill it out, you need no documentation other than your own boat papers if the time was done on your boat. I did it all in just a couple minutes. You can just make up the dates etc... I might suggest taking it with SeaTech though as many of us have

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
====================
Got on the water about 7 and didn't move a rod until a laker took the dipsy on a gator spinny and sweet pea fly. The wind was stronger than the waves. On the 2 riggers I had a size 2 and a 3 Sebile onduspoon that took 2 of the kings. 1 major and 1 skippy. It also took both of the browns. The other majors took a uv plaid green stripe pro troll with a mirtage fly and a green dot spinny with a sharkweek fly. Boat control was a little tough. I pulled double 400 coppers all day but they never took a hit. Not much bait really, a ball here and a ball there.

As far as distance behind the ball, as a general rule guys will lengthen leads the shallower the fish. Some like it short some like them longer, experiment but those lengths will work. Shark weights are different than fish weights. They both catch fish but keep in mind. That depending on weight and shape of the weights they make track different. For example If you want your lures 110 foot down and you are using 8 or 10lb weights and you have your rigger set at 110, between lake currents and trolling speed your lures might not reach. Pay attention to the angle of the rigger cable, that will tell you a lot.

Stop trying to make it out to be something more than what they are, just because they threw a few stripes on them they are still bass.

Nice job, I have never used the chatterstix although I am thinking of giving them a try. Erie is the only place I've ever heard of them being used. What is the prime time to hit big fish out of dunkirk? I need to give that pond a go one time. I fished the evening last night on Otisco and took 11 eyes all 3-7lbs. Mix of renoskys, taildancers , and reefys.

Yes they can, and many do. May I suggest that if you are interested in fishing out in the lake, go to www.loc.org and buy an adult fall derby ticket. There always guys looking for people to jump on board during those times. Also look at the topic Open Seats and post there

Its tough to beat a Shimano Tekota reel, I think you can get 400 or 4d0 of copper on them with an ample amount of backing. Go to the attomik site and he sells all you will need to get it going, as far as depths, figure roughly 22 feet per 100 ft of copper
