  1. Well I figured out how my transducer cable got cut. It had me puzzled. It was cut overnight when I had left my boat in the water. Take your guess. A) Another jealous fisherman B) Too much slack in cable and caught kicker prop C) A muskrat D) Filet knife laying around
  2. Landshark

    oneida?

anyone know if the southshore launch is ice free?
  3. Fished The Bay of Quinte friday and saturday. Took my boat back up to give it another whirl. 4 fish on Friday with just myself and another guy. 9 fish on saturday with three of us and only 3 rods. 7 of the 13 fish over 10lbs and nothing under 6. No monsters. That might be the end of my quinte eyes for the year unless there is someone out there who feels like going and wants to drag my boat up. Fishing is just starting to get really good. If anyone hasan itch let me know.
  4. I was in jersey and it was not restricted. I was ruuning a 6 line spread off the pla ner mast. That was sweeeeeeeeeeet.
  5. It's good to see Nick is a math wizard
  6. Hey, thanks fellas. Its going under the knife on Monday, i might as well try it. nothing to lose if i have to buy a new one anyway.
  7. This mayb sound crazy but what about topping this masterpiece off with a melted wax or rubber cement or something
  8. it could be, its close
  9. Somehow one of my sonar unit cables got cut about 10 inches above the transducer. Is it possible to splice everything back together. I was thinking of taking the time and rejoining all the wires and then shrink tubing it. Will this work? I figured Id ask before I buy a new transducer. Thanks
  10. Its #1 because it is the most abundant fish spread throughout the country and guys with lil to no skill can catch them. Think about it. Anytime you want to spend a day on oneida, you fish for walleye and i'll fish for bass to see who gets more, you just let me know mister
  11. This all coming from a guy who wears crocs and catches bass for fun. Why did you go bass fishing, sunfish werent hitting?
  12. Wow that Nick is a jack of all trades
  13. Headed up to Quinte at 1:30 am on thursday in hope to fish all day thursday-monday. Broke down (water pump) north of watertown at 3am and waited at a nice and easy until a tow truck could pick me and the landshark lund up at 8am. Towed me to a garge fixed it. was back on the rd by noon and 300 dollars later. Spent thurs night just relaxing and prepping for thursday. Fished with my local buddy up there and we boated a few fish and tried "one last troll" in a different area. 900 series reef runner with 2 oz of snap weight 50 ft above the leader and 160ft off the board. We were fishing in 35 fow when I figured the lure finally got hung. I was correct, hung inside a 13.2 lb mouth of a yellow bellied sabre toothed shad eating machine. The fish was 32.25 inches long and had a girth just over 18.5 inches. I spent the next 3 days working one area. Between my boat and the partner boat we managed about 20 fish. 3 over 11lbs a couple over 10 alot in the 9's. and so on and son on. I think I have one trip left in me up there. I absolutely love it there. The chance to get a trophy like this one.
  14. Hey you are entitled to what the regulations tell ya. I dont see all these hunters not filling their tags on purpose. If you enjoy them and you are within the law, have at it bud. You think thats bad, look at this mess http://www.fish-hawk.net/hawktalk/viewtopic.php?t=31886

  16. LMAO, i thought the same thing Billy. You know you are going to have issues when you make the cook the 2nd in charge of the helicoptor. It was very entertaining to me though. I'm hooked. Who wants to get it started ?

  19. OK all of you DEADLIEST CATCH fans. There is a new show that starts tonight (fri) that looks pretty interesting. Click on the link and watch the video, it looks like it's pretty intense. I think we are all going to learn some good tips for combat trolling. It's on Discover Channel at 9 eastern. Im pretty fired up to watch it after seeing the video. What do you guys think? http://animal.discovery.com/tv/whale-wars/
  20. i dont know i - bay that well. my advice is find any rocky points (if there are any) and cast in close 2-3 fow. using floating stickbaits that have a good rattle and can be casted far. slow retreives with pauses. make the lure erratic
  21. Im off til late march Bruce. Thats my life, 7 on 5 off
  22. OMG that was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was it you BOB?
  23. He is fishing for walleye carpedium. we fish that area all winter long
  24. we didnt catch alot of fish because it was a tourney i kept the baits big to try to win. dropped a couple, no doubt we could have caught more but maybe in the 7-10lb range. numbers will get better over the next month
  25. I've been having a wicked Bay Of Quinte itch that needed to be scratched. Friday I posted on a canadian forum that if there was anyone who needed a seat filled for the weekend , that I was in. Later that morning I received a pm from a guy who said him and another fella were going to fish a 2 day Walleye touranment up there and they could use 1. That was all I needed to hear. I hashed out the details with the guy and I hit the road at 2am on saturday. I made it to Canuck customs at about 430 am and it was quicker than going through the drive thru at McD's. "Where are you from?" "Where you heading?" "Have a good time and drive safe" This took less than 30 seconds. Arrived at Picton ON around 6am and grabbed some breakfast since the tourney blast off was at 8am. Arrived at the marina and met up with my partners for the next 2 days of fishing. SUPER guys. 1 of them has some quinte experience and the owner of the boat had caught 1 walleye in his life. There were some nice rigs that were in this tourney. My best estimate on number of boats is 30+. It was a 120 entry fee per boat. We fished out of a 17.5ft tracker targa. HERE IS A PART OF THE MARINA HERE IS TEAM AMERI-CAN AFTER DAY 1 WE SAT IN 3RD PLACE TRAILING BY ABOUT A POUND A 12.02LBER AND ABOUT A 6-7LBER SERIOUS GIRTH Day 1 came to an end and like I said we were sitting in 3rd. I had planned on getting a hotel but one of the fellas was watching over his grandads house in the area so he offered me a place to stay. The 3 of grabbed a few brews and ordered a pizza and devised our plan for the next day. We had from 7am-3pm to make up a little ground. There were some really good fisherman in the event. Alot of well knownn locals as well as alot of charter captains. We were the"lil" guys with the only american in the mix. We set sail and hoped for the best. We ended up winning the event. The tourney paid the top 3 fish of each day and then the overall winner. We took 3rd first day and the overall. The last picture is of a 14.2lb MONSTER that another boat landed on day 2 but fortunate for us they didnt hit a single fish on day 1. This was just a "get my feet wet" trip for me. I plan on spending a whole week up there in the coming month because the fishing only gets better.
