  1. no need for weight, if you have planer boards run them off of those. church makes some small ones that work well for that. another thing, vary your speed as far up to 2.3 or so. keep the bate some erratic or keep one on your hand. Pump it , drop it back, pump it drop it back, etc... hope it helps
  2. i think musky bob and are going to test drive this for the next 2 years. please leave it in a slip in oswego for us. nice boat. i have a 17ft lund that i use for wallys but im thinking of going to an 1800 since u have to have a 18 to fish the pro ams. is that a safety rule bob?
  3. I think things are running a little behind. The fish should be around. Work the river a lil bit. If you do, be careful of those fishing on shore. Walleye will spread out throughout the whole harbor. I took the biggest walleye of my life between the lighthouse and the east detahed wall in 30 fow. The great thing about fishing up there is that you will not catch a good number of fish, but if you do hook up expect to have your camera ready because it's no average walleye. good luck
  4. size 18 rapals, 200ft minimum back, off planer boards, mix up the speeds from 1-2.5
  5. a bad tasting walleye is better than a good tasting bass
  6. I let my girlfriend reel in the sheepheads lol
  7. Booked a room at Henchens and stayed for the entire weekend. Started fishing saturday about 11am. Left Monday around the same time. Ended up with 3 eyes. Two 8lbers and 6. Also in the mix were alot of Big Northerns, some big sheep, rock bass, white bass , perch, and a Brownie. I stayed with the same program all weekend. I learned alot about that pond this weekend and I think my results will improve. I have pics coming. They should be on by wednesday night at the latest. I found alot of bait. There is a tournament being put on by Gander MTn. up there this coming weekend so I might give it a whirl ( go and donate my money) I'm quickly falling in love with that fishery.

  15. Hit the water at 6am, fished til 10am. Took 11 fish. 4 between 18-20, 4 between 15 -18, and 3 just shy of being legal. All fish off bottom bouncers and spinners. 1.4 - 1.6 mph. 20-30 fow. Fishing was good but I have to go to a wedding.
  16. No fish is worth it guys!!! A grim reminder to all of us
  17. I wont be fishing the tournament out there this coming weekend because some genius of a friend didnt check my walleye schedule and I have to attend his wedding. lol I do plan on fishing the june 21 -22 one up there though. They are hammering the fish on Oneida. I might try to hit it sunday.
  18. I am definately going to try again. I didnt run any lines shorter than 200 ft. I never did fish the evening, latest was til 5 or so. Oh I loved it I had a great time fishing a new area. Im going to pm you and tell you the area that I found the fish.
  19. OK The g/f and I decided to go to henderson for the weekend. I got the boat all rigged up and we headed up saturday am. Launched the boat at the HH townramp. I was told to look for fish near sackets so we made the 8 to 10 mile or so run up that way. I started out trolling 2 sticks of the boards and 2 bottom bouncers with spinners out the back. I mixed up the sticks with bombers, rapalas, reef runners, thundersticks etc... Both deep and shallow baits. I worked speeds from 1 mph up to 2.2 By about 3 pm i finally found a concentration of fish. I found fish in the 20 range so I started working shallow baits over the top of them. I couldnt buy a bite. (other than perch) Found a lot of fish in 40 fow down 30-35. I set up 4 deep sticks and tried to entice somthing. Wind picked up and we made a rough ride back to the ramp. grabbed some dinner and hit the hay Woke up in the am and lauched at sackets and tried it all over again. Fish were still in the area but I trolled til 2 and couldnt trigger anything. Anyone have ny advice for me.? It was my 1st time up there. Pm me if you want
  20. Thanks bud, I'll be sure to drop you a report sunday night to let you know what I found.

  23. Has anyone ever fished this? http://hendersonharborny.com/id38.html I think I'm going to try it. Also, where is a good place to stay in that area? Is there any hotels, campgrounds, B&B's, that are near to the launch?
