The loss of a fellow fisherman for our country.
Landshark replied to Rich D's topic in Open Lake Discussion
That is awful I lost a buddy back in January. I feel so bad for the families. It is a terrible reminder that freedom doesnt come free. GOD BLESS THE USA!!!!!!!!!! -

Landshark replied to Landshark's topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
i could but there are 1 piece rods in there. i could if you wanted to pay for shipping and packing -
What kind of water do you fish in sandy hook? I would say for lake ontario its not essential unless you are out there alot and fish alot of fog

Landshark replied to Landshark's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
im off for the winter. i have a lot of free time you let me know. im hoping someone out there would like to get out for a lil bit today -
It must have sold If you posted it in this section, it would be removed because if you scroll down on the main page you will find a section devoted to selling items. That section is labeled Classified- selling. I think i saw it there. Take the time to look at the site and you will see that.

Everything im reading says to still fill the tank. each paragraph is from a different site. Be sure to fill your boat's fuel tank to capacity (allowing just a little bit of room for expansion) and add stabilizer, prior to stowing it away for the winter. Failing to do so will allow air into the tank, which can condense on the sides as the temperature changes causing corrosion and clogging over time. Turn off all fuel valves, and use duct tape to seal off any through-hull exhaust ports. This will also help prevent potentially harmful internal condensation. In addition to these steps, remember to replace your boat's fuel filter and water separator. Add an appropriate amount of fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank and top off to minimize the formation of moisture through condensation in the fuel tank. Attach a flushing attachment as a cooling water/flushing source. Start and run the engine at fast idle approximately 10-15 minutes. This will ensure the entire fuel supply system contains the appropriate storage mixtures. Hopefully, you topped off your tank and added fuel stabilizer before you put your boat away for the winter. If you did, you shouldn't have any problems this spring. If you didn't, it's probably best to simply start from scratch, removing any leftover fuel and disposing of it properly. This is because fuel can break down after prolonged periods of storage. Condensation is also a problem, especially when there has been wide fluctuations of temperatures, and this can leave water in your tank, which is disastrous for your engine. Check your owner's manual for the best way to drain the gas tank on your particular model.

I headed out to my local "pond" tuesday night. I got on the water about 6. Set up to troll sticks. 1 deep lil rip in lights out 100ft behind the board at 1.8 over anywhere from 20-40. Off the other board sent a pearl ghost deep lil rip 120 behind the board. Took 14 eyes ranging from 14"-19". was off the water by 8:45. It's so nice sharing the lake with nothing but the geese.

I thought you were suppose to fill it up before you put the boat away for the winter? oops whats everybody else think? I have always just put water remover gas treatment in and made sure it was run through all the lines and motor before i put her up

I figured I would share this with anybody who braves the elements this time of year right through to the spring browns. I do alot of winter walleye fishing in open water and I knew I needed a floatation suit. The girlfriend kept hounding on me  that it would only take 1 slip while I was out there by myself. I always heard about mustang survival suits but wow they are pricey. Before I bought one I did some research on different manufacturers and I'm glad I did. I came across a company out of sweden called Fladen. I went ahead and bought one last year and I love it. It is very toasty and comfortable. I bought the model 846. It's a 2 piece deal. I don't know if you can buy them in the states. I bought my through a company in England. It took about 2 weeks to get it and I think it cost me about 220 all together with shipping. If anyone is contemplating buying one I would highly advise you check them out. Although It sounds like I'm trying to sell thier product for them, trust me I'm just trying to share this with you guys in case you were thinking about it. If anyone ever wanted to see mine let me know. I'm also curious how many of you wear them or think that you should? I included the link to the actual place that I bought mine from. Besides Mustang are there a alot of options out there for suits? I know bass pro was selling a browning suit last year. I think that browning suit was in the low 200's. I'd love to hear some input guys. http://www.tacklebargains.co.uk/cgi-bin ... 3a663#a663

Landshark replied to ray koziatek's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
Ray, I just tie mine own up as I go. It's actually really easy. I buy bulk blades off ebay. I get beads and floats there as well. I get my double hook snells from quick change ( http://www.quickchg.com/default.asp?navid=36 ) It takes about 1 minute to slap a spinner together and this way you get whatever color combinations you want. Here is a guy that I use alot http://stores.ebay.com/OLE-COYOTES-DEN Plus, It's fun to name them as you make them. This summer my better ones were named , I'm Back, Coming out of the closet, Trouble in Parad EYES, Overkill, and Call a Cab. Just to name a few . If you want any info on spinners give me a shout. -
