Chinook divers are great been running them for 2 weeks much easier to bring in easier to fight fish on and much less drag when in the holder. Haven't had one false release in 2 weeks. Gave them a work out this weekend 7 nice kings fishing out of Fair Haven. Don't think dipsey;s will be seeing to much water time now.
Thinking about trying some MC Rocket bait strips. Anyone have any luck with them? If so what colors would be good to start with I fish the east end of the lake. Thanks Larry
This is a more advanced brine that works great for low quality baits that have been thawed and refrozen several times or for baits that are going to be trolled. This brine will keep ten to twelve dozen herring cured for up to a week in the refrigerator.
Advanced Bait Brine:
2 ½ gallons of water 3 tablespoons Mrs Stewarts Liquid Bluing 4 cups non iodized salt (canning/pickling) 1 cup powdered milk 2 tablespoons of pure anise or garlic UV Liquid and/or Pautzke Liquid Krill
This recipe works well or you can just cover them in pickling salt use lots of salt. that what we did with that batch.and freeze them.
Woke up Sat morning to a rough lake no fishing. Several charters tried to go out turned and came back in.
Wind didn't die die dn till late afternoon. Instead of going out to fish the lake we went out into the bay to fish for alwifes bay is loaded with them now. Caught about a hundred in an hour or so of fishing. now have enough cut bait for the year.
One charter went out did well 6 browns with on pushing 14 LB all on stick bait on the mud line.
bumpy ride. Fish out to 150 very few marks and very little bait.Ended up 1-1 a laker. Radio was very dead.
Charters got some browns early but the bite didn't last to long. I hope we get some better weather so the lake starts to warm

Used one four the last 3 years. Can't beat the 12 in on large salmon. Just keep it sharp[.

Now That One Toothy Critter
This is NOT a fish story !
This is a new record Northern Pike in Utah He caught it on Yuba Lake .
Check this thing out.. The man (in the photos below), was fishing and caught a 36" Pike.
As he was reeling it in, a 56" - 55 lb Pike tried to eat it !!!!!
He landed them both in the same net. The last picture is unreal
