  1. My bad. Thought the Atlantics have very few spots below lateral line and more of a forked tail. What else am I missing? Only ever seen a couple and they seemed pretty obvious those times.
  2. Nice catch. How big was that laker? Think those are all browns. Looks like a great day on the water.

  5. The state launch is on rt 14. just after you pass Arneys marina. You can also launch at the bait shop in the point. There is a fee, though unsure due to new owners. It is very close to the lake. There is also the coast gaurd launch, but Im not sure how late into spring you can use that launch. That is also right at the lake. Good luck!

  15. Not all of it. http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/modis/ ... 3.250m.jpg
  16. Take insulation board and make a box that goes around it. Dry fit outside of the boat, then install in the boat floor and attach using whatever works for your situation. Cut a hole for the drain line, and lengthen the hose so you can lift out the fish box if needed. I think spray foam could be a problem if you are unlucky. It will stick to anything it gets on and is a pain to get off if you can. You should be able to put the sides together out side the hole as long as the bottom isn't in. It will colapse and should fit if there is room. Once in, put the bottom piece in and secure.

  18. Sorry, Seems the need around 50 miles of river to spawn. The eggs need to float in 75 degree water at a speed of around 2 mph until they hatch. If the sink to the bottom, they die.
  19. Nice to hear there are atleast habitat problems for the carp if they reach the great lakes. Seams reproduction would be virtually impossible due to the length, speed, and temp of river water needed for eggs to hatch. Never knew the electrical barrier was installed to keep gobies out of the Mississippi river. I always thought it was for the carp.
  20. Hang it up, especially after this weekend! Calling for a lot of rain. Launches are opening daily. Go get the Browns. No fish is worth taking a dunk in the drink.
  21. there was a handful of guys out on the south east side this morning, and one guy just north of the bridge on the west side. He was checking the ice with his spud. Open water is at both ends of the bay. Shore ice looks like its getting pretty bad.
  22. Well said Vince. Another way to look at is that the lake has a put and take fishery for salmon. Salmon that are not caught either make it back to the hatchery to begin the stocking process again, or dye in the tribs accomplishing no reproduction( with exception to SR). If we don't fish, and take if we please, there would be no salmon fishery. As long as hatchery numbers are not effected, and forage base exists at a sustainable level, I see the tournaments as a very important venue.
  23. Fox news covered this story. Did anyone see it on local or evening news?
