  1. I heard Spring is the best time to hunt them
  2. Another good idea is to create natural forage throughout your prperty. Removing large trees to allow the undergrowth to establish itself will attract as many if not more deer than any food plot. Get the briars, maple seedlings, etc growing and you will have deer. Food plots are good, but the natural growth is the way to go. Food plots are just a supliment in their diet. Talked with one of the famous "Food Plot guys" who is no longer affiliated with a single seed company and believes this is the best way to attract the deer. Proper browse should cut your visability in the woods down to under fifty yards. if you can see farther than that, you don't have enough and the deer have to leave to find food. Browse trails can be created by cutting lines through your canopy, Deer will follow, and you can hunt. Its like a nonstop buffet with plenty of cover.

  4. Tim, Be careful around that area. Usually one of the last to freeze in that area, so the ice may not be that thick after the thaw.
  5. The Scotty is May 8-9th . The pro am is June 5-6th.
  6. Rod, I've heard they don't perform well deeper than about 50'. Never used one personally. There was a guy in Oswego last year talking them up on the dock at the pro am. Not sure if he caught anybody though.
  7. 1/1-12/31. Like a trailer
  8. Scott, Registration is going to cost you $100. If you join a trail club for $25, the reg goes down to $45, so its $70. Cheapest insurance will probably be around $70 or so.
  9. There are two 345 gtis on rods on craigslist. Clarence Ny. Check under Rochester or Buffalo. Not mine, just thought someone may be interested.

Ice is around 5". Whole bay is frozen, but don't know how it is out towards the middle. Lots of people around Leroy is. and by Skippers. Fishing was slow today.
  11. How about the lack of hunting pressure on surrounding properties? There is a ton of ground out there that very rarely gets hunted. I hunt property that has a good amount of hunting pressure on it and the deer simply move off it and go where the pressure is less. Spot light the fields at night, there are a lot of deer around. I will agree that the yotes put a hurting on the deer herd (fawns), but I think they are making up for what is not being killed anymore by the hunter. I have seen many yote tracks, but rarely any that lead to deer carcases.
  12. Im suprised I have seen no lawn signs in oppsition to the wind farm. Makes me believe no one knows about this. A few signs along the lake and Im sure there would be outrage for this. I did see the commercial for saving the golden cresent last night on YNN (rochester channel 14). If anybody knows a sign maker who is a avid user of the lake, let them know.
  13. 28 here. Hopefully im not the "kid"

    Woody, you got a brother?
  16. Rick, Best wishes for your family. Hope your dad's recovery is speedy one.
  17. Winter is so unfair Very cool Matt
  18. Bob, Like legacy said, put the camera angling towards the trail.
  19. These may seem like they would be cool to have around for sport, but they destroy the land and have negative effects on fawns and ground nesting birds. Better hope they shoot all of them if the find them.
  20. http://www.oleantimesherald.com/article ... 880531.txt If you hunt down that way, keep an eye out and shoot when no one is looking.
  21. Sweet! That last picture with the blood all over the place is awsome!
  22. Dale does a great job with the deer. Don't hesitate to give him a try. Its nice getting my meat back and not everyone elses like at some places.
  23. Big Jon, Wegmans, Walmart. It doesn't even need to be related to fishing. If you notice community events that happen, Walmart sponsors a ton of stuff.
  24. Im all for it. I hate open communication. A team should be in one boat, not four. Team Coldwater Affair
