  1. Id say there is roughly 5' clearance going under the bridge. Opens on Wednesday I think.
  2. We had one last weekend that spit out a goby that was about 8" long. Biggest I have ever seen. Browns love Gobys.
  3. 13' glassmaster mvh 130. never been used. $50 plush shipping if needed.
  4. I was told by my accoutant that unless you are a charter captain, you can not write off tournament/boat expenses. It is a hobby and the tournament is a form of gambling. Hope she wasn't wrong. If she was, the govt has some of my money
  5. Honestly sir, we brought that fish from home for lunch.
  6. Rifled barrels should have sabbot slugs shot through them. A rifled slug will want to spin as soon as it is fired and can have negative efects on the rifling in your barrel. Lead will build up in the riflings too. Rifled slugs are ment to be shot out of smooth barrels. A sabbot slug has a plastic wad around the slug and will not naturaly spin when fired. The slug will begin to spin as the wad comes in contact with the rifling. The plastic wad will keep your rifling from getting fouled with lead. This will help your accuracy and also help your barrel last forever.
  7. Oswego CG (315) 342-0086 Buffalo/Youngstown CG (716) 745-3327
  8. The launch at the coastie station would be the only one open. Need to be careful of ice if your heading out to the lake as the chute can get plugged with ice chuncks with a southerly wind. Bay is open only on the north side of the point.
  9. Bill, you have a pm Thanks Jeff
  10. If the fish hits the roamer, it will usually slide down to the swivel. Fleas can mess up the slide, and sometimes small fish don't release the roamer. If the fish hits the main line, you can reel the roamer to the tip and it will slide down. sometimes you need to give a little tug on the line above the reel to get it to release. Fleas may also hamper this process.
  11. Nice Brownie. What did it weigh
  12. We always unplug the 9v from our probe when done fishing and we get around 100hrs out of ours. Those new probes look nice though.
  13. We use 20 lb Ande clear. Once fleas show up we use a 150', 30lb Sufix Elite leader.
  14. Whole thing loaded, but ended at Mikes dancing? Im not sure if thats what you call it. Can't wait to see the whole thing. Jeff
  15. I would be for a size limit on the perch. Some that are kept are just too small, but you know some people think 5" is big.
  16. Air boats yesterday were getting gear from the ice.
  17. Thanks for the update Paul. I know freedom of opinon is something that makes this country great, but it seems that there is a select few who try voice their personal opinion for a group that doesn't exist. These tournaments are a truely enjoyable time. I don't think negativity towards any tournament, Scotty, pro-am, loc,etc.. is going to help anyone. Tournament, sponsors, or fisherman. If there is a tournament that has rules that better meet your needs, then I say fish that one. Dont try to prevent someone from fishing a tournament with negativity because of your own personal opinion. They may enjoy it and not be bothered by any of the rules. Tournaments should be looked at as a way to promote our fishery for all to see and to have a good time. People notice 500 strangers in their town and love their money. Sorry If I offended anyone Jeff Zimmer Cold Water Affair
  18. Any news yet? Jeff
  19. The Walley are there, but I dont think very many people target them. I think it would be hard since the bay lacks structure, with the exception of weeds. Guy, How did you guys make out Sunday. Hear you had some action on Saturday. Jeff
  20. Pm sent. #1 premium is the way to go. Very hard to find a box stores with the exception decking in the spring and summer. Jeff
  21. Dick, We have done it at both ends, on the backer or right at the knot on the leader. At the leader works most days, but some works better at the backer. If the fish aren't hitting with it at the leader, try the backer. You will need to let it out 100' or so to get to the depth when on the backer. Jeff
  22. I have never used the jet diver, but have used the the stinger dive bomb. We have used them by themselves and have also attached them to lead core and copper to obtain deeper depths. The 3 0z on a 400' copper will get you around 100 ft, so thats 200' less copper to reel in, or maybe its just because I dont have a 600' setup yet. Jeff
  23. Looks like a good day a Sodus.
  24. Nice one Bob. Did you get him with a bow, or in the Northern Zone rifle.
  25. Might want to keep an eye out for some lighter rods if you don't have any. Lots of 2-3lb browns around early. Spinning rods are a blast. Jeff
