Some thoughts about observing.
Time Out replied to rolmops's topic in Tournament Talk, Shows, Events & Seminars
I agree. A pocket sized ID book of actual lake O. fish pics, not drawings, would be a nice addition to any boat. Maybe someone could make one up and sell them here. I never really thought about that happening Cornelis, but I could see how someone could be taken advantage of if they have little or no experience fishing. -
Wilson Beef Farms Is the best. Costanzas is good too.

There are a good number of browns in 50'-90' northeast of the channel. Not sure about west. Hitting nks and stingers in natural colors fished within 20' or so of the bottom. -
Rule of Thumbs for Trout/Salmon weights
Time Out replied to BP Swing's topic in Open Lake Discussion
I think at least with salmon, it would be inaccurate. If a fish had a lamprey on it, it will be under weight. We caught a 44" salmon a few years back that only weighed 25lbs. It had a lamprey on it when we caught it and 3 other fresh scars. It had the body of a steelhead. Not to mention the difference between males and females, small 4year olds vrs big 3 yr olds, etc... -

Nice job Pat. Tried finding those Lakers Saturday. You fish from the lund? Andy, The black spinny with green on one side and crush on the other works well with the Atommik Habanero fly in the evening. Also the B fly glow and Hammer glow should produce for you on white boards. Nk 28 spoons should also produce and add some glow as the night wears on. Start deeper and move in as the night progresses on. Dont head to the dock to early as last light usually produces some big ones. -
Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):7/14-1/17 Time on Water: a lot Weather/Temp:hot Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: to flat Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Atommik Hammer, B fly Trolling Speed: 2.2 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 400-700 Lure Depth: 50-120 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== We started off Thursday night arriving at Sodus and headed due North to fish some deep water kings. We ran 12 miles out to find a productive looking screen. We ran 2 riggers, 2 wires and a 400, 500, and 600 copper. Our spoons on the riggers took a few fish and our wires and coppers produced the larger fish pulling Atommik B flies, Hammers, green glow, and glow mirage behind various spinnys. We ended the night with 10 fish. Friday was exactly the same as Thursday night except we ventured a bit further north fishing 500’-700’ and fund a temp break that moved down temp down 80 to only down 55 in about a ½ mile. This is where we took our larger kings. We ended the day with a box 17-19 lbers and one at 22. That would have been great for Saturday, but too light for big fish Friday finishing 10th. Our B flies and Hammers shined all day. Stingers were hot off the riggers in green and silver, and dolphin colors. Saturday found us 13 miles north again with exactly the same results as the day before. Our break was gone, but the fish were still there. We ended up having a few smaller ones hit the deck. Our first fish of the day was a beautiful 19 ¼ “ king . At about 1030 we finished our box with a nice mix of teenagers and 2 yr olds. We were sitting in 3rd after Day 1 eleven points out of 1st. Sunday we were confident in our spot and returned after thinking about changing locations based on a few rumors of bigger fish. Well we boxed 4 nice kings early on a hammer and B flies, and the the bite stopped for us. At 830 we began getting nervous as we went a hour without a touch and our screen turned barren. The prior days were nonstop. After shallowing up a bit to 400’ I began to see some boats moving around so we figured the bite died for a lot of teams. So we ran 12 miles south east to pville, put leaders on the king gear and filled the box with 5 browns. The browns were hungry for stingers in both bright and natural colors. After getting to the dock and taking a look at the leader board, we knew it was going to come down to a couple pounds. As we put our fish on the scales, it looked as though we might actually overtake first. As the last brown went in the basket, the wheels started turning and It was so close I couldn’t figure out who was in first. It wasn’t us. We ended up second to Prize Fighter with scores of 348.72 and 348.64 respectively. I guess you cant get any closer. It was a great weekend and wish there was another Pro am to go. I guess we have to wait another 10.5 months until Niagara. Its been great seeing everyone this year and I hope differences can be resolved and this tournament can grow again. Thanks Bill Hilts, Chris Kenyon, Dave Turner, Mike Waterhouse and everyone else involved in making this tournament run. Thanks to all the sponsors, Abes and Jacks for the hospitality, It was a blast. Congratulations to the Screamer boys on their Lake cup and Pro am wins. And I guess Ill congratulate Phil and Perry on the Prize Fighter boat for their cup and pro am victories too . Good luck with the stringer and you guys are welcome aboard any time.

That border is a joke. People run all over up there. Just sit at the west or east end of Wellesly Island. Does anybody really think all those people heading north and south check in. How about all the boats going in and out of Lake of the Isle. Doubt it. The govt's are getting desperate for cash, so they are going to steal it where they can.

Pro Am Changes???
Time Out replied to Paul Czarnecki's topic in Tournament Talk, Shows, Events & Seminars
Boundries I think we've lost more money in fuel than we've won from running an unusually far distance, but I like to have the option and to take the risk sometimes. Leveling the plaing field across the board will never be able to be accomplished. Those with big wallets can not only buy more gas, but bigger boats, better electronics, equipment, tackle, and sometimes captains. Heck, just look at the vid of that reel Billy V has. Im sure he is going to change lures on his 600 copper a few more than I would Somebody is always going to be disadvantaged, but its up to them to figure out how to overcome it and thrive. I thought that was the American way. Aren't the communists the ones who want everybody equal? As far as run times, at least in the am, you cant get to far with a 15 min run, so it wont really change anything. -
In Wilson Saturday afternoon the water came up about 8". Looked like a tide coming in and then going out.

No Comm Agreement Proposal
Time Out replied to dreamsteelie's topic in Tournament Talk, Shows, Events & Seminars
Cornelis, I see roughly 6 A-TOM-MIK sponsored teams that signed it. There maybe more. Just because a couple didn't, no need for calling out anybody. It was a teams decision to sign or not to sign the agreement. There were other sponsored teams from different manufacturers that didn't sign as well. -

You guys call Bill hilts Jr? Or maybe Newane marina? -
Looking for some better ways of storing flasher fly combos and keeping the boat a little cleaner. Looking to see how you guys keep everything organized. Do you take the fly off, or wrap the fly around the flasher, hang them up? Hows everybody storing their everyday flies.
