Hey stranger. There is good ice all over. Havent heard how the fishing is, but the ice is good.

Was there last Wednesday and there was 5"of black and 3" of crappy snow ice. The warm temps and rain helped melt the junk off the top and is in good shape now. Wheelers were just about everywhere when we were there. Good Luck!

I agree with Paul. 80% seems high. Maybe 80% of fawn mortality is caused by coyotes? I know where black bears are present they put a damper on the fawns.

If you were going to harvest the animal with respect and utilize the meat given to you, the fact that it is albino is a bonus. Animals like that are likely to get jacked by some A$$ and left to rot after they have what they want. I was after a 3/4 piebald doe last year that I assume was jacked on a road where there is a tone of poaching in the southern tier.

I believe Brazil is making ethanol from a grass. While it is food for cows and such, it isn't a food for humans. Mr. Gore in the last week or so has said it was a mistake pushing corn base ethanol so far. As far as the wind farms go, they cant sell 50% of the power that is going to be generated off the coast of new england because of the extremly high cost. Go figure. A nice new nuke plant would have looked much better.

Be careful on cross lake as its part of the canal system and the water levels can varry causing week spots on the ice not only at shore but also out in the lake. Have had a couple close calls there when there was plenty of ice.

A buck was killed last year at our camp that had a high broadhead wound, above the shoulder pass through, and a low brisket graze. We border some state land. The deer was moving as though it had never been shot and the wounds were not even noticed until it was back at camp. Many grazed and non vital hit deer (bow) survive and never have any implications from them. Dont be to hard on your self as the shot sounds like nothing more than a graze or super ficial wound and should be fine. If someone has never done it, they haven't hunted long enough.
