Think I could have snuck out the channel in the Smokercraft but opted for Ibay with the neighbors kids for an hour and a half after the boys baseball practice. Ran four sticks off boards in 4-18 FOW. Never made it to Shipbuilders as their daughter was freezing. Nice to get out on the little boat ad see its ready for the season! Noah loved bass in Port Bay last fall! Bruce

Saw that.Went up yesterday to grab fishing stuff for the small boat and do a few chores. Hard to believe I was ice fishing 16" two weeks ago ! Bruce
-
Heard the channel is slated for dredging the coming week weather dependent. Bruce

Thanks for the replies. Looking forward to learning spring and summer fishing from our new home port and meeting some of the "local" guys !! Bruce

Thanks Lucas! Was up most weekends this winter and was suprised to not see the lake levels come up as usual. Hope to see you this year. Bruce

Anyone have a look at Port Bay launch and channel recently? Hoped to get out Sunday with a guy new to lake fishing. If not any acess close to there open? Talked to Hank (L&M) today and he said last look he had was not pretty. Thanks, Bruce

Different day today for sure ! Fished about an hour rooughly same spot as yesterday and got 1 4" perch. Not even a nibble other that that ... Next weekend !!! Bruce

Fished today for about six hours. About 40 perch with 17 keepers... none over 10 inches. Mousies and minnows over 24 FOW worked the best. No pike on two tip ups rigged for them. Bruce

Spent a coule hours early afternoon off Graves Point. Two tip ups with golden shiners moving them around a bit from 3-22 Fow. Rest of tip ups rigged for perch from 14-25 FOW. Only one 9" perch to show for it. Heard it has been slow on the bay but folks were having some action on Sodus. Nice day to be out after two days of officiating ski races. Bruce

Funny you should mention bullhead as I caught one off Tompkins in the 22fow I was perching in on a fathead on a perch setup... almost kept it for my mom who loves them but thought maybe they aren't as tasty as the cold water spring ones...
-
I was in one of the two out there... the one wth the riggers on the back with the side console steering... thats usually parked on the west side of Graves n the hoist about 5-6 docks souh of the point Bruce

Fished Tompkins and Graves.uch slower this weekend but did get a very large crappie off Tompkins today...my first here. Took a peek out in the lake late morning hoping to find a school ... Nope! Thanks for the suggestions.

Fished 150-80 ... only marked two fish and no bait. -
Lakes laying down.... Giving it a shot. Warm water down to 110 in 150

Got out to fish with my son for the for the second time in a long while . Nice bite this morning in 135-156 down 75-100. Once again I should have listened to his wisdom of twenty three years.... NEVER leave fish to find fish! Fuller Black Meat was a star performer. List my favorite 15 year old paddle and green Twinkie rig to a fish that hammered a 300 dipsey and took off... Nice to fish with the kid again.

Fished the afternoon with a friend. Worked 80-150 working 50 - 80 down. Struggled but managed three kings. Two low teens one on a Fuller Black Meat something and the other on dew doctor with crazy **** atomik fly. The young one also on the Fuller spoon. Sounds like others had a better catch.

Put our Trophy in the water Friday for the first time in two years (cancer treatment ) so stoked! Just had a bunch of stuff done in perpetration for the launch. All went well. Got up in the morning to go fishing and found a foot of water in the bilge! Pumped it out and tried to find the source. Coming in through the out drive that was just off. Had met Hank from L&M a few weeks ago. Gave him a call and he came up and had a look. He pulled the boat out of the water on Sunday morning and took it to his shop and said he would get at it Monday morning ! That's customer service at its best !

Lucas, Whats your friends name.... may have met him? Hope to be up a lot the next few weeks now that soccer is over... just in time for the fall derby. Bruce -
Fished for 3 hours today before heading home to coach last soccer game of the season. Started in 130 and worked out to 300. Did a laker down 73 over 230. A few "lookers" but no buyers. Laker came on a blue dolphin R&R (remember that company?). Did not mark much bait or many fish. Have a Hummongbird on the little boat and I have to say I prefer the Raymarne on the other boat. Seems to mark fish better. I only see the ones following or leaving on the Hummingbird.

Thanks for the welcome! We did indeed buy the Nellis's place. Nice place as they were meticulous which other than mowing leaves me lots of time to fish. We have been up at the Oak the last seven years (the last two no boat in the water due to a bit of cancer treatment) so have been a it spoiled by deep water quick! Love the quiet of the bay and being able to fish it as well. Took my neighbors son bass fishing for his first time yesterday -he had a blast! look forward to fishing tomorrow before our last soccer game.
