I may have a 8X10 from days gone past if I can find it I will let you know and can fax or email it to you. If you have a "smartphone" Navionics has a very good app that I use often when fishing the Finger Lakes in areas I am not familiar with. There is also a map in Saunders Fishing Guide - Finger Lakes Edition.

Hard to imagine perch fishing out of a boat on this date let alone being warm most of the day! Fished south/west side of 104 bridge in 35- 45 FOW with best bite being about 42. Fish were smaller and no where near as aggressive a bite but good fun none the less. Nice to be out and Happy belated New Year to all. A dozen or so other boats out as well as some duck guys out on the big water. Bruce

Fished perch Sunday with Patty from noon to maybe 3. Had a good day but not as good as 2 weekends ago. Fished south of bridge in 21-28 FOW. Minnows took fish that were smaller bust decent. Highlights of day were seeing 2 Bald Eagles one of which flew right over the boat and then later deep fried perch with cocktail sauce! Parking lot at launch looked like summer! Bruce

Fished a few hours late morning to early afternoon and found some nice perch. First time using spreader rigs and minnows. 25- 28 FOW was best.

Fished out of Woodville launch for a nice fall trip. Wanted to fish perch with minnows but poor planning put that to rest. Had some lake trolling gear and headed over to the east shore (90- 140) and set riggers at 45 and 50 and leadcore at 7 colors. Did 9 lakers and five rainbows. Lures that took fish were all mupped up 10 Firecrackers and Steelie Dans and a lure my son , Stacey, brought back from New Zealand... see attached picture and link. Tried it for a short while in am and did not catch a fish on it. Put it back on in the afternoon for a few passes on the west side just north of ??? Coys Cove??? and took 3 of the bow on it down 50 in 95 FOW on each north troll past the next point past that cove. Great day on the lake I should fish more! Fished the Orleans Pro Am for the second year. It was a tough bite for us despite good fishing the previous three weekends. While fishing (waiting!) we discussed the size limits for these tournaments and all aboard thought there might be merit to open discussion and consideration of upping the sizes for fish to ones similar to LOC sizes. We felt bad keeping 18 inch fish that might otherwise become "trophy" fish in future years. Just a thought than may well have been kicked around in the past unbeknown to me. This is a well organized Tournament and the spirit of the sport shines in most cases throughout. Thanks to the organizers! Bruce Bolger

Launched out of Woodville in search of??? Trolled north with 65 rigger and a Hawg Wild back 20. Took two 2# lakers over 120. Worked north to just south of where lake widens and headed to east shore. Got to 170 and 500 copper started to peel off.... must be a good one I thought and I was right.... 31" laker about 10# took what many of us at the Oak call an M&M with a gold back. That set up took 2 more 2-3 pounders in the same area. The big guy looked to be a lost cause when landed but after 30 minutes of genle work in the livewell he was ready to go back and slowly swam off upon release. Been a while since I have fall fished down there and it was nice to do so. Have a picture of that fish on my phone but no clue how to download to computer to post it. May try to get back on Sunday. I don't really want to post regarding politics but I do need to. I have read, true or not, that one gubernatorial candidate wants to change Adirondack policy without any specifics. I urge you all to find out where all of the candidates in your district stand in regards to our natural resources - important to you or you would not be on this site. I won't get into my choices just ask you to make sure you include where these folks stand on outdoor issues in your choice. Bruce

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Throbbin Rod ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):10-9 Time on Water:am and afternoon Weather/Temp:sunny and 60's Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location:Devil's Hole and The Oak LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): 24-28 x 9 =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 6 at the Hole 2@ the oak Total Boated:1 each location Species Breakdown:steelhead and a brown Hot Lure: skein and steelie dan Trolling Speed: 2.7 knt Down Speed: 2.3 Boat Depth: 220-400 Lure Depth: 10-110 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Fished Devil's Hole in the morning with friends Joel and Fred in Joel's boat. Did the drift with skein and later tried some flatfish. A lot of boats in the hole, "gorge"ous day! Had a half dozen skein bites but only manage one steelhead to the boat, beautiful female. For the afternoon it was off to the Oak with Fred. Well we worked from 200-420 with one small salmon we lost on a 42 Second Stinger and a small brown at the end of the day on a Steelie Dan. Was a blank screen for the most part and 58-57 degrees down to 110!!! Wind all week probably did not help. Nice afternoon on the water for what may be one of our last but definitely not the last, weather permitting next couple weekends. Bruce

Fleas at the OAK ?
bbolger replied to MRItech's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
No fleas today to speak of had riggers to 120 feet. -
My mag 10 riggers are 10 years or more old and still run pretty darn well after a new power cable or two. Just picked up a used Sotty off the board here and it is wicked fast and pretty darn simply unit.

Blacks for sure. Used to love Rhoemers until I tried Blacks. As noted the Rhoemers remain useful if stacking rods on one rigger.

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Throbbin' Rod ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):&/10, 11 Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: 75.6 Location:just east of port a bit LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): 25x5 =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: many Total Boated:many Species Breakdown:kings, brown steelhad and coho Hot Lure: couple - see below Trolling Speed: Down Speed: 2-2.5 Boat Depth: 325-380 Lure Depth: 45- 80 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Fished both day on the 25-26 N and 5-6 lines. No one else wanted to play in our sandbox and that was just fine with us. Stellar weekend with some 30+ bites each day with most of the fish to the boat. Not as good a percentage on Saturday due to the waves. Fish came on all rods. Riggers 55- 75 down, 300 and 400 Coppers did their share of the damage. Wire rods 150- 238 went pretty well too. On the riggers the best were Watermellon Stingers mupped at 55. A variety of other spoons took fish - glow frogs, Gold NK NBK, Moonshine Bish Spoon (Black white w/ ladder), and a few others. Could not really get Gators to go. Various Spin Doctors, Paddles and flies both days on the wire and copper. Saturday Gold NBK on 300 copper was busy, white Smartfish with Crazy **** fooled a number of kings and steelhead. Sunday a blue Hoochie and blue fly was very busy on the wire rods. Good weekend of fishing with friends Joel Morrison Saturday and Sunday and Greg Shrorer joining us Sunday fresh back at, 1 am, from trophy brown fishing on the Delaware. Couple 12 lb Steelhead and a dandy brown were the highlights for Sunday if you leave out the fiesty 3 year old kings.

Friday afternoon 2-7 boated 20+ mostly kings 75- 90 down green spoons or gold with green, black ladders NK 28 unknown name on copper rod out 400. This rod and spoon have been our top producer this summer. Saturday early start to about 2PM. Another killer day, same spoons and down depths but out in 250 area a bit west to a bit east.Started the day with a triple while patty was still asleep below.... got 2 of them including a nice 35 inch male Atlantic. Monday went out at 9:30 - 1 a bit west in 350ish ending almost straight out and did steels and a couple kings steady all morning including a couple 10 plus steels. One was 34-5 inches but only 10.5. Glow M+M's, Glow frogs, Gators down 35-65 including free sliders and same copper setup but out 300 all were going pretty steady and most often we were doubled or tripled up. Fish came in groups, Never really settled in one area to work it. Missed or lost a handful each day. Did only a few on dipsey and could not get the lead core to fire when we ran it Monday? Back out Sat, Sun and hopefully Friday evening. Bruce

One skip, 9# Coho, 2 teenagers, couple steels and fish of the day were 29 & 31" steelhead. Grilled up some chicken for a nice dinner on the boat.

We were going to sign up this weekend. Too bad.... perhaps too many of us waited too long to register. Bruce

Lot's of great fisherman, volunteers and sponsors! I can appreciate those that would like to see the results sooner. I am involved in Alpine Ski Racing and we run into the same thing. I understand what goes into an event from planning to awards. We have chosen to post ASAP "Unofficial Results" (and use for awards) that most often are the same as those posted later as "Official Results". We state that awards are indeed based on these unofficial results. We also often post online these "Unofficial Results".This allows folks to see results, awards and still get on the road home (or if looking online on with other activities) as many come from a great distance. This seems to keep most happy and people understand if things do happen to change the results including awards. No one seems to mind. Just a thought. This was my first time fishing one of these and was a great experience. I was lucky enough to fish with Dave and Josh and Joel on Tracker. I would certainly like to participate in the future. Give the organizers a bit of slack..... Bruce

Cape Cod Stripers
bbolger replied to Kevin J Legg's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Nice fish! Did not put 2&2 together until Rich Kolmetz said a buddy of his had just returned from the Cape with good reports on the stripers. Met you at a game of his a couple years back. We were "attacking" MCC with the potato gun from the restaurant parking lot after the game. Bruce
