  1. Thank you! I am looking forward to coming again this spring!
  2. Has the date been set for this show yet?
  3. Congrats FISHMANDAN!
  4. Me too Bill. It has been way too quiet around here lately.
  5. Looking at the wave and wind forecast, it doesn't look fishable.
  6. Check with Motoman on here. He is painting spoons and he is doing most of Fingerlakes tackles colors. You can also check them out on facebook at Hawks Tackle.
  7. Drop your climber in the woods and go park. My buddy used to lock his climber to a tree so someone wouldn't swipe it while he was gone.
  8. We fished the bay this morning and it was slow. Found one small pocket of fish and managed 21 so so perch between three guys. The Lake Ontario bays seem a couple weeks behind this year compared to last year.
  9. He has done three deer for me in the past two years. Great guy and does a good job. No hair!
  10. Keith next year your boat? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. Nothing about COLD KFC chicken........Shocking. Jim brought Keith's favorite KFC to slow him down too!
  12. Pequod, GatorNY and I won with 5.1 lbs.
  13. If you scraped the Pacific Salmon stocking on Lake Ontario, Lake trout and Landlocks would suffer too many alewives kill Landlocks and screw up natural reproduction of lake trout. Without the kings keeping the alewife in check, the lakers would gorge on them due to availability, and it would make the already low natural reproduction lower. Eating too many alewife is also bad for walleye natural reproduction.

  16. A big thank you goes out to Seagar Marine for putting on this tournament. Well run, great guys and a lot of fun. I would also like to thank Jim for letting me join him today! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  17. The info is on LOU, it is also on the DEC website. Those who care don’t make excuses, they do research and show up. You do not hear complaints from the Sandy project. We get a big group of guys that are willing to give their time no matter what. I find it interesting that you do not think rainbows go far up stream. Take a ride to Holley this November and see how many rainbows are in the creek way up. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. With this elitist attitude, this only causes more issues between lake guys and trib guys. This is an attitude I do not want anywhere near the Sandy Creek project. These projects are about what is best for the fishery not what’s the best for ME. The lake fishery at Sandy does not benefit from the pen rearing of Domestic rainbows but we still do them at our project because we know it is what is best for the entire fishery. Domestic rainbows are not caught often by us. If you spent anytime on the lake, you would know that there is no pier head fishery at Sandy Creek and no one power trolls j-plugs like they did in the the 80’s. 19. The pen projects are more important than ever. Some projects need help in huge ways. I can tell you the Sandy creek project is not hurting for volunteers or funding. We have a great turn out every year and the committee has gone to the town and other outlets and been successful getting funding. It bothers me that guys find all the time in the world to go catch these fish yet they can’t give a couple hours for these projects. Some guys don’t have the time but have donated to the projects which is very helpful. These projects are beneficial to lake, stream or pier fishermen. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. If Jim doesn't chicken out.
  21. I heard all the info Lucky. I just don’t see how you can make 3 trawl lines in 2016 seven trawl lines in offshore waters in 2017 and six in 2018 and compare them accurately. There were definitely more alewife offshore last year and by doing less trawls in that water, you skew the data. They did more trawls in shallower water and came up with more red x’s. I’m not saying bait numbers are not low but the science should compare the same set of data year after year to be more accurate. I still think a one year creek bump is in need. I know they said they didn’t think it would make a difference but what would it hurt? Every king taken out of the system would save bait. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. I attended the meeting this evening and left with more questions than I did when I got there. Attendance was poor IMO. I was under the impression that the trawls were done at the same time of the year, same spots , same duration and same number of trawls. I learned that is not the case. I also learned at the meeting that the trawls were cut down from 10 minutes to 5 minute trawls. The one graphic Steve Lapan showed, had the trawl locations and the amount of alewife (represented by circles). I am adding a picture of that graphic below. I questioned this because in 2016, there were three lines of trawls in the offshore Canadian waters, in 2017 there were seven lines in the offshore Canadian waters and in 2018 there were 6 lines of trawls in the offshore Canadian waters. I don't see how you can compare data that is not collected by the same method at the same time every year?
  23. I took a ton of kings inside of 100' this year off of Sandy. We had stellar fishing there 90% of the season.
