  1. They may want to check again. It's getting worse every year. It is worse since those photos.
  2. Mine was bypassed. The steering is like butter and the kicker runs flawlessly with the autopilot on! My mechanic called and they told him the exact parts he would need. They didn't have a kit yet for the EVO 150's. They might now but I have no clue.
  3. If you go over the pipe with a good fish finder, you can see the pipe clear as day.
  4. It would cost millions of dollars to put a pipe out to 150'. Our intake is in 53' and its 1.5 miles out off Rochester. 150' of water would be double that distance easy.
  5. I got mine through Yankee Troller at Krenzer Marine. PM him. He knows which one to get.
  6. 50 years ago we didn't have zebra and quagga mussels that made the water super clear.........
  7. I put in hydraulic steering and the EVO 150 on my 245 Penn Yan Contender. It wasn't cheap but I can use the autopilot with the big motor or the kicker and it works flawlessly.
  8. Dropping an anchor will spook them way easier than spot lock. Now, if you spot lock right on top of them, you are shooting yourself in the foot. I'd be willing to bet they are doing something different like using lighter floro or a different bait. It can make all the difference in the world in the crystal clear lakes like Seneca.
  9. Run off only affects us if we get the Genny plume or a South wind that blows dirty water off the shoreline out over our intake. Both our plants on Lake Ontario are very advanced and have zero issues treating what is thrown at us. Salmon Creek in Hilton was way over it's banks late last week! Bring on the water! I hope to see high (not flooding) for this season.
  10. Probably when these donuts came out! I always pictured him as a Swifty! 🤣
  11. Yes. It is coming in between the point and the end of the wall. The point now extends way deeper into the bay than it did before the wall was constructed. It must be when the water is high and the winds crank out of the NE it pushes sand into the bay.
  12. While fishing the bay this fall and on the ice the other day, I noticed the break wall set up they put in is actually causing issues with the bay. It looks like the sand is washing into the bay through the East end between the Point and the wall when the water is high. The sand at the end of the point now extends way into the bay. Spots I used to set tip ups is now dry land. I thought the point of the break wall was to keep the bay from filling in?
  13. Jail time and a steep fine. The laughable game fines in New York are not a deterrence for people. The fines should be a hardship for EVERYONE. If you don't want to pay fines, don't break the law!
  14. The worst part about that is the $1075 fine. What a joke. NY game law fines are way too low.
  15. I have never seen them before. Interesting.
  16. That wasn't always the case. For years, it was all big smallies and no little ones. The run is weird from year to year also. Some years they come in early, and it's strung out over a month and some years they come in in one big wave over a couple of days..
  17. Carolina Classics had a water ingestion issue with some motors. Read up on it. I had this discussion with one of my customers. He lost lots of fishing time due to this issue.
  18. VHS disease took a huge toll. Tons of dead bass floating up the one year. I can't remember the year but my lab enjoyed rolling on the carcasses at Braddocks that summer. I believe 2004 or 2005 was when VHS disease reared it's ugly head. The spring run of smallmouth at Sandy has been slowly getting better the past five or so years. We are now seeing small fish instead of just big fish and more of them.
  19. I'm all for it. We used to have a blast smallmouth fishing off Monroe County. They are still there but in way smaller numbers.
  20. If we call them all steelhead or all rainbows, it simplifies regulations and creel limits. In the end we have a world class fishery so does it matter?
  21. New York Angler Achievement Awards Program - NYDEC Look at the state records. There is just rainbow and no steelhead. It is all lumped into one species.
  22. Dropping the creel limit from 5 down to 2 or3 would help too. This needs to happen lake wide. When the bass population took a dive years ago, I brought this up during the state of the lake meeting and was told they were keeping it at five for bass tournaments........
  23. Hogdens website has it. Not cheap but its available often. Stock pile it when you can!
  24. Spoon Blanks for building fishing lures (barlowstackle.com) Trolling Spoons for Walleye, Salmon, Trout & More (lurepartsonline.com)
  25. You can buy the blanks on a website. I don't remember which site off hand but I will dig it up and post it.
