  1. There are a couple reasons I strictly use Atommiks on my boat. 1. Quality is top notch 2. You are buying from a fishermen not some guy that sits behind a vise and doesn't know squat about salmon fishing 3. He supports tournaments lake wide on Lake Ontario Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. It's funny that the dam outflows drop and the lake starts to climb just prior to the 2014 agreement....... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. Sorry Lucky but you are wrong. On December 17th they started holding back water (6700 from 7200). They cut flows back even more on December 31st to 6100. It was not from precipitation it was to bring the lake up. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. As soon as the 2014 plan was implemented, man takes all the blame. Having a higher lake is reckless with homes built to the old plan levels.
  5. Keep a fishing journal and document every fishing trip. Over time, you will notice patterns year after year. You will also figure out where fish go after certain winds / weather. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. I would not be surprised if someone on the IJC board has a vested interest in shipping......
  7. I wonder what those environmentalists think of the partially treated sewage that is getting pumped directly to the lake due to the sewer systems being overwhelmed as a result of the lake levels?
  8. At this point, The IJC might be on the hook after what I read on their Facebook page the other day. The IJC was saying they did not want to up the flows because they would shut shipping down. I understand shipping is a mutli million dollar business on the Great Lakes but holding back water and causing millions of dollars of damage opens you up to a butt load of trouble. Also, the lake was brought up to the 2014 plan level early in the season and held there. If the lake was at the historical average or 58D plan, there would be less water in the lake from the start and less flooding now. Tug Hill had huge amounts of snow pack, the upper Great Lakes were all above average. We were on track to have good water even if we had a drought (see last seasons water levels). We were in a severe drought and due to the higher water in the upper Great Lakes, Lake Ontario held just below the season forecast and lake level plan.
  9. Look at the graphs from the IJC website and the Army Corps website. You can see how in late December the flows started to subside out of the Robert Moses Dam and the lake began to rise. Starting on 12/17/16 flows dropped. http://ijc.org/en_/islrbc/Lake_Ontario_Outflow_Changes Look at this graph and you will see the lake begin to rise in Mid December. http://www.lre.usace.army.mil/Missions/Great-Lakes-Information/Great-Lakes-Water-Levels/Water-Level-Forecast/Monthly-Bulletin-of-Great-Lakes-Water-Levels/
  10. If gobies have invaded, the lakers are going to become bottom dwellers even more than they were in the past.
  11. Stealth mode!
  12. It is more than likely already there. VHS is it usually only affects sick or stressed fish. Healthy fish will survive it.
  13. And more people have their boats in the water.
  14. They could be smelt, or alewives also. They found alewives, smelt, perch, and deep water sculpins in the trawls in 300' this spring.
  15. Head towards braddocks and look for marks in 100-180. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. Granular Activated Carbon has changed the game. GAC gets rid of taste and odor issues in water treatment. You can also use Potassium Permanganate or Sodium Permanganate to help with taste and odors. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  17. Most drinking water facilities are advanced enough that it would not be an issue.

    I bay 5/16

It will pick up. The water is cold still. I found it got better once the water temp went over 60 degrees. it also got way better once the alewives were rolling on the surface.
  19. The same goes for any fish. That red meat taste horrible. I trim it off of all the salmon and trout I eat also.
  20. There will be a video on my site this summer. Once the water recedes and I can get my boat in, we are putting a video together. As for fishing with me, I am more than willing to take guys out and show them the ropes.
  21. That string across your living room to your mantle could be dangerous in the dark!
  22. If it does not affect native muscles / animals / plants, I'm all for it.
  23. The IJC website is back up and running. It was changed and they took the reports section out that showed the outflows at the Massena dam. I wonder why they do not want people seeing that info now?
  24. I just read that they are shutting down shipping in two weeks to let a ton of water out of the St. Lawrence. We will see. I guess it will be at the max flow rate. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
