Gator and I went to Honeoye this morning out of Sandy Bottom Beach. If you head there this weekend, use EXTREME caution. The shore ice was sketchy and there are open holes all over the north end almost down to Trident. If they skim over this evening or we get a dusting of snow, they will be hidden well. As for the fishing, lots of 2-7" perch. We only brought home 5 big perch and 2 big gills. Lots of effort for very little return.

Channel or not, the entire bay is too shallow. The new lake levels are going to make late season worse. Without jetties, this channel will fill in like the past. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Guys were out there the other day from what I heard. The fishing was very slow. I would give somewhere lese a shot before Braddocks with the flasher. -

With the abundance of very small perch down there, I would expect slower tip up fishing.

I stopped and looked at the ponds last night. Lots of small holes all over both ponds near the road. The main sheets looked in OK shape but I would be using my spud for sure.

Our intake at our Greece plant shows 38 degrees and the Webster facility is showing 48. It is really cool to see how wind changes the temps between both plants. -

I use Berkeley rod holders. They are sets of four and they have a lock that closes to hold the rod in place. I have a board screwed across the ceiling of my cuddy with these screwed to it. I have the same set up in my garage for work yet storage. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -

I tried one years ago out of Conesus. That was the last one I will ever eat again! -
I was just past the docks. My line of tip ups ran across the front of all the docks. There was a group between the docks and another group of guys in the corner off the launch. I did not see any other pike iced.

While you guys were all snuggling on Honeoye, I fished Braddocks. Ice was 3-4.5" and the water was clear. I iced a couple pike and lost one good one at the hole due to a bite off. I also caught a bunch of 6-8" perch.
