  1. Running a stacked rod above a cowbells set up is a waste of time! The cowbells will be going fast enough that you will spend more time rigging than fishing.
  2. I hope they are planning ahead. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. Was the current still ripping?
  4. Kings are an introduced species NOT an evasive species. Big difference.
  5. If we are going to depend on more natural reproduction, maybe it is time to close down some sections of the river that produce high amounts of natural reproduction. I know the trib guys will go off the deep end over this comment but we need to protect the naturals if we are going to depend on them more. It is in everyones best interest.
  6. The other thing I forgot to add is bring them up slowly. When they come up slower, they are easier to burp. Using cowbells will give some resistance and help bring them up slower.
  7. My point is, they could use our observations to help put the puzzle pieces together. They do deer hunting.....
  8. Burp them and then drop them head first into the water. When you drop them, the water pushes in and pushes the remaining air out. We get very few floaters this way.
  9. If they go ahead with cuts, we need a contract stating they will increase with KINGS not lakers if the bait levels increase. I'm worried they will cut kings and not stock more if and when the bait rebounds. They could take the cheaper route and let the Feds dump lakers in.
  10. I think it is funny that they use hunters observations to help with scientific data but when it comes to the lake fishery, our observations are not worthy!
  11. I run the Daiwa Saltists. I have been beating them up for 5 seasons and they have not skipped a beat.
  12. Look at the 2016-2017 dates / seasons PDF. The restrictions are back for the 2016-2017 season.......
  13. I have the same issue at this time of the year. Come October, they show up in big numbers.
  14. My advice would be to get rid of the Okuma reels......
  15. Check ebay.
  16. IMO, this needs to be lowered. Your tournament is in the growing process. People want to win money. By putting a big minimum weight on lakers, you are not allowing people to win money. There were only 4 over 20 weighed in during the summer LOC (31 days). That tournament is way bigger and covers the entire south shore. I believe a minimum weight is necessary but 20lbs is way too high.
  17. Is lake trout still a 20lb minimum?
  18. Is captains cove still a weigh site?
  19. With an East wind, cold water moves in along the shoreline and the warm water pushes offshore. It really screws up the inshore fishing until we get some west or northwest winds. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. That deep water temp is a day old. The NWS calls my work at 7:45 every morning to get the temp. The D&C publishes that temp I. The next day's paper.Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. I bleed them out and put them in ice. Filet them and get all the dark meat off the back side of the filet is also key. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. I hear ya John. It has been nice to king fish like crazy this year. We have barely fished lakers at all! The last three seasons, we beat up the lakers bad. We boated over 1200 lakers. This season, we are just over 120. We have caught more kings this season than we did the last two seasons combined! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  23. No why?Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  24. Thanks guys. The steelie fought like garbage and was a shocker when it came to the net.
