  1. Congrats guys! Hopefully you did not burn all your luck for the shootout Steve. You are on a roll.
  2. The bridge runs North and South not East and West Matt! lol.
  3. They were both from my dedicated laker rods Les. The butt cap came off and sunk to the bottom.
  4. I have two Daiwa Heartland 8'6" (green blanks) tip sections that someone can have for free if they need them. Both butt sections are broken and in the trash. Pick up only I will not ship.
  5. If the counter did not get reset before deploying the diver, you could have had a lot more line out than the counter was showing. Sharp turns will also cause inside divers to sink fast.
  6. Go down to the Genny in the fall and you will start to think snagging is still legal!
  7. Down to 1.7-1.8. Dreamweavers and nk's have very little action if any at all at that speed. The paint does suck but they are more speed tolerant. Look at the LOC leaderboard and see what Tom Allen is using. Stingers.......
  8. Dreamweavers are nice but you can not get good action out of them at slow speeds. They are a heavier blank.
  9. I think this might turn into one of the best threads ever on LOU. Very cool stories. I might have to scan in some old pics.
  10. Here are the paid teams for the Shootout Calcutta: 1. Escape 2. Addiction 3. Legacy 4. Pull The Hook 5. Silver Fox 6. Bear Creek Bandits 7. Reflection 8. Jolly Roger 9. Get The Net 10. Double D 11. The Scottsman 12. Rigged 13. Team Justified 14. Screamin Reels (from Oak Orchard) 15. Rabid Weasel 16. Tomahawk 17. Hells Bells 18. Maryland Boat 19. Jessica Rae 20. Bear 21. Make The Turn 22. Missdemeanor 23. Live Action 24. Yankee Troller 25. Runnin Rebel
  11. Why would you use a snubber with 50lb? I don't use them with 30lb and never had a break off.
  12. I started in 1984 at five years old with my dad and his buddies. Like Chad said the water was way different. Kings were plentiful and so was the bait. I can remember snagging a lot of alewives as we trolled and my father would get frustrated about cleaning them off the lines. I look at the tools we have today compared to back then and you wonder how we caught fish back then!
  13. Thanks for the kind words Bill. 3 to 1 with the ball is what we used in Erie last summer to fish perch in 75 fow. It was a two foot chop both days and it held fine. Chain on the anchor is key.
  14. Don't worry Pete, not many people fish that water off Sandy. Fishing lakers is a sin to most. I get sh*t for doing it all the time.
  15. I run the Stingers, Stingrays and Mags for browns. Some days they want stingers, some days they want stingrays and every once and a while they hit mags.
  16. I have done it into mid October with good success. I have not done it in years but it should still be good. Some of my best steelhead days came in late September and early October,
  17. In September, the offshore bite for Steelhead and next years kings can be unreal. I would much rather run offshore without the BS of combat fishing and catch more fish.
  18. What model?
  19. I found them at Overtons. Thanks Broadhorizons!
  20. Looking for a new or used Daiwa Heartland 8'6" medium action rigger rod in the green blank. If anyone knows of a tackle shop that still has one that would work too.
  21. Congrats Dave! Now you will be watching the leaderboard crazy!
  22. There was a small break in 440 and another in 480 that were holding fish this morning Bill. 35-80 down we took kings and steelhead.
