I have two Daiwa Heartland 8'6" (green blanks) tip sections that someone can have for free if they need them. Both butt sections are broken and in the trash. Pick up only I will not ship.
If the counter did not get reset before deploying the diver, you could have had a lot more line out than the counter was showing. Sharp turns will also cause inside divers to sink fast.
Down to 1.7-1.8. Dreamweavers and nk's have very little action if any at all at that speed. The paint does suck but they are more speed tolerant. Look at the LOC leaderboard and see what Tom Allen is using. Stingers.......

I started in 1984 at five years old with my dad and his buddies. Like Chad said the water was way different. Kings were plentiful and so was the bait. I can remember snagging a lot of alewives as we trolled and my father would get frustrated about cleaning them off the lines. I look at the tools we have today compared to back then and you wonder how we caught fish back then!
Thanks for the kind words Bill. 3 to 1 with the ball is what we used in Erie last summer to fish perch in 75 fow. It was a two foot chop both days and it held fine. Chain on the anchor is key.
I run the Stingers, Stingrays and Mags for browns. Some days they want stingers, some days they want stingrays and every once and a while they hit mags.
I have done it into mid October with good success. I have not done it in years but it should still be good. Some of my best steelhead days came in late September and early October,
In September, the offshore bite for Steelhead and next years kings can be unreal. I would much rather run offshore without the BS of combat fishing and catch more fish.
Looking for a new or used Daiwa Heartland 8'6" medium action rigger rod in the green blank. If anyone knows of a tackle shop that still has one that would work too.
