  1. GPS speed and lure speed at the ball can be very different. You are better off getting a speed and temp unit. This past weekend we had a GPS speed of 3.0 but at the ball we were doing 1.9-2.1 down 40'.
  2. Thank you John! Leave them all for us!
  3. Last week Sadny was on fire. Temp was set up really good until the East winds. The East winds have broken up what good temps we had set up. When I was out last Friday, we had 58 on top and 49 degrees down to 80'. We took kings from 40 - 85 down. The early bite was also the key. We had 9 kings on the floor before 7am. after 9am it was really slow.
  4. They are the best cowbell out there. I have been running them for years and taken many lakers over 20lbs with them. If you keep the speed below 1.8 mph, they are lights out. Above 1.8 they do not produce as many hits.
  5. 90 - 120 had a ton last week.
  6. I never take the plainer rods and short cores off my boat. The summer of 2013, we were fishing browns in 25-35 fow in July and crushing them on short cores. There are times during upwellings that they will come into play also.
  7. Sounds like the clutch needs adjustment.
  8. Narrowing it down to one combo is tough. Two is a lot easier! My two favorites are the Live Wire Spin Doctor with a Green Crinkle Atommik or the Hammertime Spin Doctor with a Green Hammer Atommik.
  9. It was $150.00 per boat last year. I have to talk with Rob and Scott to see if it is the same this year. We also do a calcutta that is $50.00/boat.
  10. The shootout is July 25th. If you pay in cash, you can meet up with Legacy, Silver Fox or myself before the date and sign up.
  11. No it states boats under 17' are legal. It would have to be 16' 11 15/16" long or shorter.
  12. Die off. It happened last year too. They are stressed from spawning and not in the greatest health after the long winter.
  13. Snubbers are not needed. Ditch them!
  14. Call lowrance if you can not find it. Some new ones are compatible but you will lose surface temp.
  15. He puts straight 30w in my boat Matt.
  16. Just so you know Shawn, he is talking about Sandy creek in Hamlin not the Sandy creek on the East end of the lake.
  17. They were piled in 120-130 off of sandy yesterday.
  18. They work all year. The water is 39* sometimes in the summer in the depths I'm catching them.
  19. Mono main line with a floro leader. I use floro for the abrasion resistance. Braid is nice for a main line but the fleas end that early. The hookups are way better with braid and the fight is better but like I said before, fleas are an issue.
  20. I run 30lb. They are not line shy at all.
  21. You can run them on a thumper rig or off divers. It is a pain but it does work.
  22. Last season the fleas were around for a much shorter duration and not nearly as heavy. Most years it starts in June and we deal with it until mid August.
  23. Hopefully the fleas are like last year. Last year was not nearly as bad as years past.
