    They work great for panfish too. I picked up a couple packs at Mitchels the other day.

    This is the exact reason the DEC should get off their butts and do a better job with the fishery we have!!!!

    I was not overly impressed with the fishing section. Trolling stuff is very limited.

    Seeing that it is one of a handful of salmon fisheries in this country they should care a lot more. Salmon fishing on the west coast is hurting big time. Some areas, king fishing was shut down due to bad numbers. In the future, the Great Lakes salmon fishery might become the best in North America. It might be time to give the fishery a little TLC.

    My beef with bottom trawls is alewives suspend most of the time unless they are at the intersection of the thermalcline and the bottom. We saw them dragging the net one day this summer and they were way outside the thermalcline/bottom intersection area.

    That would work for me. One deer is all I take a year because that is all my family will consume until the following year.

    I'm not a fan of antler restrictions. I do not hunt a lot but I enjoy eating venison. I will take a small buck so I can get back to perch fishing. Doesn't allowing bucks with bad genetics (small goofy racks) breed with does screw up QDM?

    PM Tessier from this site. He has one with a bad motor and gear box. Everything else is good in great shape.

    I would be willing to bet the fish in the holding ponds are mostly stockers and not wild fish.

    +1. I have the Seagates for my 200,250,300,350,and 400 coppers and a Saltist 50 for my 10 color. Awesome drags and very fast retrieve. I wish they would come out with bigger reels to hold the 450 and 500 with 300 yds of backing!

    Best time to take them is Columbus day weekend. They are usually taking eggs around that time and the kids will really like it.

    Battery augers are nice but the cold and batteries are not a good mix. That was my reason for going with propane over battery.

    My number of kings boated was the second lowest since I started keeping my fishing log. On the other hand, my laker numbers were WAY above normal. Steelhead, Browns, Coho, and Atlantics were right around average. As crappy as the king fishing was, it was still a great season. This was one of the weirdest seasons I can remember in all the years I have been doing this. Hopefully next season is back to what is was in 2010 - 2013.

    The offshore bite for steelhead and immature kings at this time of the year can be amazing! The matures are being caught around the pierheads right now.
