  1. We have had lots of west blows this August / Spetember. When that happens, it stacks warm water up in the Eastern end of the lake. Once the lake settles out and temps cool, you will see things get better.
  2. Still looking for 2 20's with line counters and a 50 with or without a line counter.
  3. Still have 2 left
  4. Apparently reading isn’t a strong point. Make it a trophy fishery. There isn’t a tiger trout fishery with the potential that Lake Ontario would be. Drawn anglers to Lake Ontario for a unique experience. It would benefit both Lake and trib fisheries. Why not create a small fishery? We waste tons of money on poor surviving Atlantic salmon year after year……
  5. Why not dial 4 divers in?
  6. You are not supposed to breath it.
  7. Once the water cools down, it will get better. Warm temps push pike deep on structure and they suspend on alewife schools in the summer.
  8. The yacht club now has a dredge. It will be taken care of this spring. We used to get ice blow outs during thaws in the spring and it would clean the channel out. That hasn't happened in 10+ years.
  9. I thought the same thing about skips until August. We caught a ton of them in August.
  10. East Fork Pro Marine
  11. Send him a PM n here. HE will respond.
  12. You can use the Willis knot. There are some great videos on youtube. There was a video of it floating around here years ago. ITs simple to tie. You take a couple of inches of lead out of the sheath, tie a half hitch in the sheath but don't pull it tight, side your leader material into the sheath until it hits the lead and then pull the hatch hitch tight while keeping the leader up against the lead inside the sheath.
  13. Here is what I have set up with full 300 yd spools of 30lb Power pro backing, FISHUSA Stealth Core and a 30' leader. 10 color - Saltist 50 7 color - Saltist 40 5 color - Saltist 40 3 color - Saltist 30 2 color - Saltist 20 1 color - Saltist 20
  14. Last season on the one trip, I had my riggers go quiet. I started pulling rods to make sure we weren't dragging a skip. I popped the port rigger and hit the rigger coming up. The rigger sounded like it was under a heavier load than normal. As the rigger was coming up, I could see a green 11" paddle coming up that was wrapped around the cable. When the rigger stopped at the surface, there was that green 11" paddle with an Atommik meat rig and a 15lb king on it. Someone had broke this fish off and it happened to swim into the downrigger cable and got wrapped up enough to get hauled to the surface. To this day, that paddle has been a producer on my boat!
  15. I put a loop in the wire with crimps and tied the braid on with a Uni knot.
  16. Fishing is tough but you at least got two good ones!
  17. It’s already naturally occurring.
  18. Are browns naturally reproducing in the lake? Lakers are around 1%. What is the coho natural reproduction rate? Steelhead? Atlantic salmon? It's not about reproducing; it's about providing a sportfishery.
  19. I guess they raise them at the Rome hatchery. A lot of the browns for Lake Ontario come from the Rome Hatchery. I think it would be a really cool addition to the fishery.
  20. Seeing that Captain Matt French of Class A Sportfishing caught one out of Rochester last weekend, it got me thinking. Why doesn't the DEC start stocking them in Lake Ontario? Promote them as a trophy fishery on Lake Ontario and its tributaries!
  21. Sold pending payment.
  22. The retaining clip is worn. It is the only part you will have to replace.
