  1. In my eyes, browns over 20, steelhead over 20, lakers over 30 and kings over 40 are very special and rare for sure. We are very lucky to have a chance to catch species of this caliber right in our back yard. There are very few bodies of water in North America that hold all these species of this caliber.
  2. East fork pro marine like silverfox said. Tommy is a great mechanic and will do the job right. I had the same issue last year and it ended up being a dead bug that was in my fuel pick up in the tank. Simple fix. Once the screen was cleaned off, no more issues.
  3. Anytime Lou. Glad to hear you did well.
  4. What lake are you fishing CTA? I find with clearer water or shallower water, lakers are a little more weary. If you are fishing clear water, the grease traps might work better. Like stream fishing, when the water clears, downsize.
  5. Started the morning West of the creek in 65 and had a great screen right off the bat. Fished out to 200 over the coarse of the day and ended up boating 21 and dumping a couple others. Kings, steelies, lakers and a coho but nothing over 15lbs. Had some really good rips on the wire that came unbuttoned . Spoons off the boards with 1oz. of weight, A ten color with a Stinger Stingray, a rigger at 50, 30 and a wire at 150 were out top producers. We only did one king on a flasher and fly set up. Out in 200 there was a great temp/color break. We found most of our fish inside the break. Keep a good look out for debris running in and out. Lots of timber floating around out there!
  6. Nice work out there! We went by you guys twice. I noticed your boat from the pics you post in your reports!
  7. Congrats on a steelie of a lifetime! It will look good on the wall for sure!
  8. That would be my choice!
  9. I would be Steve but work keeps getting in the way!
  10. I had the same thing happen to my on I-bay years ago. I got the bottom of the tank and ended up changing filters a couple times and rebuilding my carb.
  11. When they add 300,000 more lake trout to Lake Ontario, they will eat more bait plain and simple. The problem with lake trout is the number of years they spend in the system. Kings live 3-4 years. If we were to have another bait crash, the stocking would be cut and you would see the salmon out of the system after 3-4 years. The laker numbers would still be high for years after the salmon numbers decreased. IMO there is no need for more lake trout in lake ontario. Too many and it will be a lot harder to react to a bait issue.
  12. I think he usually shows up after striper season on the Hudson River.
  13. Those Cindy lures in there sell for a ton alone. Look at shorthanded past from a couple days ago. He was selling 2 for $65.00.
  14. Bring a paddle. Motor restrictions on the lake for the weekend.
  15. The returns of Atlantics compared to the number that are stocked is DISMAL. The numbers are less than 50 returns for 600,000 stocked (less than 1%). I would not call that more and more every year. The atlantics that are stocked on the North shore are not surviving and returning to the tribs to spawn. The genetics of the Atlantics that used to be in Lake Ontario are gone. Thiamine or not, the wrong strain of Atlantics WILL NOT thrive in Lake Ontario. Go to spoonpullers.com and PM a guy named kwikfish. He will give you facts about Atlantics. While you are on the site, read the post about the canadian governments legislation to STOP stocking non-native species (ie Kings, Coho, Browns and Steelhead).
  16. If they turn Lake Ontario back into a walleye, laker and Atlantic salmon fishery, the alewive population will explode. Atlantics can't seem to do well anymore in Lake Ontario, lakers and walleye seem to prefer gobies. The Canadians stock 600,000 Atlantics a year and get very very low numbers of adult fish that return ( most years less than twenty)!!!!!! With the success of Lake Ontario they would be stupid to change it. But it seems that how this state and country are being run lately.
  17. You get more of those at night casting than trolling during the day.
  18. I have four roller rods and love them. There is a lot less resistance on the rollers compared to guides. It makes the fight a lot smoother.
  19. Go to glangler.com and read Dave Mulls story about having to be rescued last year. You can never be too cautious. Reading Daves story made me rethink safety.
  20. Are they going to enforce it from a canoe? Lol
  21. I don't think they would taste good cooked like fried smelt!
  22. He was seen ordering cowbells and spin n glows in Greece!
  23. Don't let him fool you Steve. He is a closet lake trout fishermen.
