  1. Olliebugga, Buy some spin n glows too. IMO they are better than peanuts.
  2. IT has been slow but it should pick up over the next couple of weeks.
  3. Mine would be a 500. It has been my most productive copper the past 2 years. The 300 was a close second the past two seasons and the best 3 seasons ago. This also depends on where you are fishing. The East end a 500 is a litte too short.
  4. No. I'm fishing on the West side of the crowd.
  5. The Erie Canal is LOADED with carp. I fish them in the summer in Brockport, Spencerport, Greece and Fairport. I use corn and they love it. I use a 1 oz slip sinker with a hair rig 3' from the slip sinker. Stay by your rods or you will be shopping for new ones.
  6. Last year the intake temp here at work got to 36 degrees for the low. It stayed there for 2 days. That happened in early March. This year, the low is 34 degrees and it has been 34 degrees since Jan. 11th. This temp reading is taken at the intake crib on the bottom of the lake in 50'.
  7. I kept 2 and both of them were the skinniest pike I have seen. One had a rubber worm hook in its stomach with a large plastic (looked like a sluggo.). Keeping a couple will not hurt a thing.
  8. I have caught pike every trip but it is slow. I have seen more on camera than normal. The one trip I saw 16 pike in 6 hours of fishing. We have not had the most favorable pike conditions this winter.
  9. 8' daiwa heartland rods with daiwa sealine 27lc's or Daiwa Saltist 20's.
  10. Spend the $. I did not and put thousands into stringers and a transom.
  11. I believe it is 2 tip ups OR 2 jigging rods OR 1 jigging rod and 1 tip ups on the Canadian side Vince.
  12. I was there last Saturday and the drag was HORRIBLE. The crappie fishing has been non-exsistant this year (last year was a fluke). The gill fishing has been decent but mostly dinks and the pike fishing has been slower than usual.
  13. Could be a bad transducer too. It happens from time to time.

    Lead Core?

I have my short cores on daiwa sea line 27 lcs.

    Lead Core?

I had some suffix lead core on my 2 and 3 colors and ended up switching back to cortland. I had issues with it fraying and breaking after very little use. I just spooled my 10 color with a spool of lead ore from Great Lakes tackle co. that I got in the goody bag from the sandy creek Shootout.

South end has a nice parking lot with a long walk to the drop off (fishable water). North end access is right near deeper water. If you fish the drop at the South end, you can get browns, rainbows, landlocks, lakers, pickerel, largemouth, smallmouth, perch, crappie, gills and seeds. You never know what you are going to catch there. If you walk from the South end, follow the trail in the woods until you hit the drop off. The south end (huge shallow weedy flat) has many spring holes. Once you get to the drop off, you will not find the spring holes.
  17. I did something similar to this in the summer. I one of my special mate tackle boxes wide open on the seat on a bumpy day. Not fun!
  18. It should be divided up equally in that division not put in his pocket. The Orleans county derby divides it up if a slot is not filled.
  19. I thought about this aearlier tonight. If the salmon division does not fill up, Dave Chilson is set to pocket some $$$$ since the steelhead division money is being dumped into the King division.
  20. Hopefully this is not the pattern! I hope march comes with record warm temps! I love ice fishing but the salmon and trout itch is really bad.
  21. They can be fizzed but not burped.
  22. Not good for the alewives either......Hope for a warm March and April to get things back on track.
  23. Nice choice!
  24. This is a nice boat. It sits a couple slips from me. Catches a lot of fish too! What are you upgrading to bear?
  25. Congrats Pete.
