  1. I'm not a fan of okuma jammer. Their quality is not there yet. I also like a smoother drag and a higher gear ratio.
  2. I do run a 200 and a 250 copper Chad. I ran a buddy's side by side with the 200 last season and each on had its days. I also like having ALL the tools for the trade. I have no room for it in he boat but I will figure something out.
  3. Thanks guys.
  4. What brand and lb test backing did you use?
  5. Here is a king we caught this summer with a split lip. If used correctly they are a great tool. Unfortunately most people hang a fish like it is underwear on a clothesline on them. URL=http://s29.photobucket.com/user/GAMBELL/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsaa19397f.jpg.html][/url]
  6. Thanks guys
  7. I want to set up a ten color on a saltist. My question is what size do I need? Can I get 300 yds of backing, the core and leader on a saltist 40 or do I have to go to a 50?
  8. I was thinking the same thing rick!
  9. No need to double it. Mine are single and I have had zero failures in five years.
  10. There are two areas I find lakers and it differs from port to port. When I fished Irondequoit Bay Area, I found lots of big lakers on flats adjacent to structure. To the west of the genesee river, lakers are structure oriented. The structure oriented fish are found in the 90 to 135 zone on the bottom. The flats fish I used to find in 150 to 220 on the bottom. Peanuts and spin n glows trolled behind hammerhead cowbells are the best producers. Fish them within five feet of the bottom at speeds ranging from .7 to 1.8 mph at the ball. If you go faster, your catch rate will drastically decrease. Find out from the locals what depth they are fishing and it will be easy to find them. Zoom your fish finder I the bottom 20' of the bottom and you will see tight hooks to the bottom. 90 percent of the time those are lakers.
  11. Hopefully they work on the phone ap
  12. If you want some free salmon, go to one of the Pro Am tourneys next year and guys will more than likely be willing to part with a few.
  13. Any species of fish will start to float after a while. Decompisition causes bloating and floating.
  14. More than likely stressed from spawning and died. I have seen them dead at this time of the year a couple of times. Let me guess Braddocks?
  15. Happy Birthday Jerry.
  16. I run mine the same length. I set one side of the boat with the deep diver running below the thermalcline, and the other in the thermalcline. The other side I run one in the thermalcline and the other high out of temp.
  17. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
  18. I use a 1 and a 3.
  19. And it looks like Canadian waters. Different rules boys.
  20. Strictly an opinion and sure as hell not a fact. Not taking deer and being selective means tags left at the end of the season most of the time. Taking deer helps no matter what age because it keeps the population in check. Last I checked, over population in a deer heard is not healthy. And to answer your question, 20lbs of meat is worth it to me because I really enjoy eating venison. Every little bit is consumed and not wasted so I have no reserves on shooting a small deer.
  21. These pics don't bother me either. I'm a meat hunter and don't care about horns. I have no problem with someone taking yearling deer. How many yearling deer do not survive a long hard winter? I would much rather see them harvested. Slow Rollin, have you ever had Veal? I sure hope not. That would be a little hipocritical.
  22. Upgrade a Saltist drag? Why bother? The drags are super smooth right out of the box.
  23. Put the entire spool on. You will need it. I had 2 kings stretch the wire out over 700' this summer.
  24. Like stated above it does not matter which one you let out first. I let my divers out first then the copper. Deploy the copper down the chute and then let it settle before sending to the board.
