  1. You should see the Genesee River or Irondequoit Bay! Monroe County Sherrifs, Coast Guard, State Park Police, and Boarder Patrol. You can't go out without getting stopped!
  2. Don't you usually fish the Pro Division Lucas?
  3. I would go with X4 as long as you can see your riggers on your fish finder. I upgraded my head unit last fall and sat on the decision for a while.
  4. Mitchels on Lake Ave has some. Stop in and see Ryan or Bob.
  5. Lee, What did you buy?
  6. That is a snapper stacker rigger release. They are used for stacking rods or regular rigger releases. I used to use them on my boat back in the day when we stacked rods. They work good but you have to double rubberband them and twist the rubberband good or the line slips through the rubberband.
  7. Team Escape will be fishing both days. Who else is in?
  8. I got the skin mount of the 34lb 6oz lake trout that Kurt caught on my boat last summer back today. It is next to the 24lb 11oz laker I caught back in 2005. The lighting sucks and it was taken with my crap cell phone. I will try to get better pics and post them. The DEC still has the head and has not aged it yet. They looked at the scales but the age came back inconclusive. Hopefully they age it and get back to Kurt and I.
  9. Wonderful. Here we go again.
  10. Congrats Nick. Great report and great fishing.
  11. Over the years at that launch, I watched a couple people rip the axels off their trailers, back the trailer on the dock, hit vehicles, fights and all sorts of other things. The best was the fist fight between a pleasure boater and a jetskier. The jetskier cut in line taking out his jetski. He left the keys on the dock and the pleasure boater kicked them into the water. The brawl was really intersting. The police where ther in seconds.
  12. They should put bleechers and sell tickets for the show at every public boat launch.
  13. You don't know until you try. I have had good luck in the past with Cannons customer service.
  14. Sorry for your troubles. I would give Cannon a call before you spend ther money on a new rigger. Cannon stand behind their products. You might be suprised if you call them.
  15. Stay in bed this morning Nick. The lake is a little angry this morning.
  16. I just add a 1/4" wide x 1" long piece to a normal Atommik fly. It has worked WAY better than cutbait for me. I buy hole herring, filet them myself and put in salt (non iodized) the night before the trip. I hook it on the tourney tie single hook and it sometimes lasts a couple fish. It ends up being a lot cheaper and easier to use than cutbait.
  17. I would not worry about low water in the channel. The rag boats are making it out and I had 6' all the way out last trip out.
  18. I think the DEC reacted right back in the day when they cut stocking. They allowed the system to absorb the shock of the zebra/Quagga muscles without stressing the ecosystem past recovery. I hope Michigan recovers. I can't imagine being on the verge of losing the fishery we all love.
  19. I keep my 2 rod holders at the same angle. I run a 8' rod on the inside and a 10' rod on the outside. The key is to have 2 rods with different action.
  20. Sk8man, He still is around. He Charters out of Oak Orchard and still does musky trips in the fall on the St Lawrence.
  21. Oh how I do not miss using public launch ramps!
  22. Color does matter but really how much color are the fish seeing following a Spin Doctor? I think a white flasher with any other color on it, the fish sees white. I don't really think the see green spots or black spots on a flasher. Same goes with silver, green, black flashers. I think the colors hook fishermen more than the fish.
  23. Thanks Guys. I will check them out.
