The Genesee River fleet used to use it. I'm not sure if they still do.

Sharing info on the world wide web is ok on lakes that can HANDLE the pressure. The finger lakes trout and Lake Ontario trout and salmon are stocked for the most part and short lived so it is no big deal. Smaller lakes with natural reproduction species may not be able to take the pressure. Just be smart and do not over publicize the smaller bodies of water with fragile fisheries. This site is here to share info BUT, I think the reports sections should be limited to members that contribute and have higher posts. Any everyday Joe can become a member and join just to take info from the site and not give a thing back.

You too! Must be hard to know every one of us will be gunning for you over the next week [ Post made via Android ] Thats OK Nick. I love good competition. Even if it does not take Grand Prize, I will not be that upset. It is a fish of a lifetime. The memories with 2 great buddies is worth more than the cash.

No problem Nick. We have a video of our 3rd place brown from yesterday too. Thanks for the info. I will pass it along to my buddy and we will see if we can master video editing this winter. Good luck in the rest of the LOC.

No Minimum Flows for September… Could Go As Low As 100CFS

If there is an egg shortage in the fall, can't the DEC seine fry out of the river and put them into trucks for stocking and pen rearing at other locations? I would be more than willing to donate as much time as they need to help? Their survival rate would more than likely be better if they were handled correctly. -
We do have the video. I can't post it because Dave still has our SD card. I had to go and purchase another one for yesterdays trip. My buddy that is working with our videos has very little expierence editing videos. Any tips Nick? Software, little tricks?

Awesome slimedart! I love those big pike.

The three of us on my boat got our checks last week. I think Dave is a little busy. He still has not posted our Go Pro video we submitted on Sunday afternoon.

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):8/22 Time on Water: 5:45 Weather/Temp: Warm and sunny Wind Speed/Direction: south less than 10 Waves: less than 1" Surface Temp: 74 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 41 Total Boated: 31 Species Breakdown: Browns and lakers Hot Lure: NBK Trolling Speed: Down Speed: 2.2 Boat Depth: 50 - 130 Lure Depth: 42- bottom ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Decided to try a brown program for something different. We ran out to 85 fow and the screen was blank. Turned South as we rigged and dumped a king in 80 fow. Hit 55 fow and found perfect brown condtions and a OK screen. Picked away at browns until the bite shut off at 9am. We ended up landing 15 browns with one that made the leaderboard @ 14lbs 14oz. We also dumped a slob brown that got into the inside wire during a quadruple with only 2 of us in the boat. Once the brown bite died, we turned out and headed to our weigh points for lakers. The screen was blank in our hot area from Sunday and last thursday. We went into search mode and never really found a good group of lakers. We picked away and boated 16 including a 16lb 4oz laker to make the leaderboard.

Nice job Mark. Keep the reports coming! -

Nice fish Rick. Amazing to see a dark fish that early in the season. Those big males sure look awesome! -
I did not think Berber can come any thicker? Oh ya, one more prediction ........The Buffalo Bills will make the playoffs this year. If your winter prediction is like the ugly prediction above, we are in for the worst winter in history!
-
I hope you are wrong about the warm winter for 1 reason. I need to ice fish after the garbage season last year!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It has been one heck of a season on the Escape (aka Chicken Coupe). I think our success is due to a good TEAM effort on the boat and a TON of LUCK. I am luck enough to fish with some mighty fine fishermen out of our little network of guys here at Sandy. It looks like Kurt is going to do a replica mount of this fish and I'm going to get a skin mount done to add to my collection. That fish is definitly a fish of a lifetime. I think it was Capt Vince that said Lake Ontario never stops amazing me. I feel the same way. We are all lucky to have this WORLD CLASS FISHERY right in our back yard! There is a ton of trophy fish out there. Go get them guys!

Temp was a lot better today. Good number of kings from 120 to 180. Some nice browns in 100 to 120 also.

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Escape ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):8/19 Time on Water:530 am Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: 1 foot Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: ? Total Boated:? Species Breakdown: Kings, browns and lakers Hot Lure: Spin n glow and hammerhead cowbell Trolling Speed: 1.1 Down Speed: 1.1 Boat Depth: 100 - 180 Lure Depth: 75 to the bottom ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS =================== Started the morning East of the creek fishing kings. Did some kings, a brown and lakers before starting the laker troll. Headed down to our weigh points from the other day and started lighting up the lakers. After 20 minutes we had boated 10 and the Starboard rigger fires and immediatly starts taking drag. Kurt yells to me, I can't get it off the bottom. I started going in and out of neutral and we started to gain line. When it surfaced, I knew it was a slob. After the net was slid under it, there was a lot of hooting and hollering. I put it on the boat scale and it was bouncing between 34 and 35lbs. We rushed to weigh it in for the LOC and the Orleans. It hit the scales at 34lbs 6oz. A new boat record by 9lbs 9oz. Great job Kurt on the rod and Keith on the net.

If it was not the DEC's idea, they will not go for it. Don't they use nets in Alaska's rivers to net kings for studies?

The Rochester Basin (Ship Builders Point to Braddocks) is the second most diverse port for trout and salmon on Lake Ontario. The number one of course is the Niagara River area. Tons of inshore slob browns, giant lakers, a great offshore steelhead and king fishery. The only issue with Rochester is, you have to be willing to burn a little more gas. Mexico Bay is a great brown fishery but on a NORMAL year, how is there king fishing for May, June and some of July?
-
2007 they did not get enough eggs to make the quota. Get on them not to change things so it does not happen again.
-
We hear of wild kings all over the lake now but you do not hear anything about wild coho. Does the DEC know if there is a lot of natural reprodcution going on with the coho?
