  1. If I were in Oswego, I would be loving the publicity. I would be banging the beach for browns all alone! I understand this does not happen all the time on the East end but the publicity for the Lake and that area are nothing but good things. We all know the winner is going to come out of Niagara county. The chances of finding the pig in Lake O is a lot higher when you are fishing the BIGGEST concentration of salmon on the lake. Lake O can handle the pressure of the internet. Smaller bodies of water, not so much. As for a June lul, there has not been a june lul out of the port I fish for me in years. The offshore steelhead fishing and king fishing was great the past 5 years. If you were not catching kings, you were not trying hard enough or fishing deep enough.
  2. I got rid of my leadcore set ups for copper. You achieve more depth with less line in the water. Copper seems to catch way more fish for me also. Besides, when you ruin a 200 copper, you can get more money back at the scrap yard for it!
  3. Congrats on the 1st place brown. Make sure you keep it frozen for the awards ceremony!
  4. Nice shakedown Shawn. Glad you could hook up with one of Tom's favorite species to catch!
  5. No. Let the copper out and put it in a rod holder to settle. If you deploy the copper and send it right out to the board, you may tangle divers. When you deploy the copper, it will sink farther that it is supposed to if you do not deploy it slow. I set mine first like Yankee troller does. Keep the boat cruising and let them out. If you clip the release and copper to the board and let it out with the board, the release goes out easier too.
  6. Thanks Mark. fixed it. I had it happen Friday also. Weird. They are the only fish dumb enough to want to get hooked twice!
  7. kappy, Video is coming soon. My buddy that took the video is on his way to the outerbanks for a tuna trip. Stay tuned.
  8. Stable weather in August for once will make things a little better in the lake. The past couple August patterns have sucked. Depending on the number of 3 and 4 year old kings will determine how good the run is. As of right now, it is looking like the run should be good.
  9. I believe it has to do with 2 things 1) warm winter 2) good year classes of kings in the lake both wild and stocked.
  10. Here is a pic of a small laker that took 2 mag spoons off the same rod. It took the main line spoon and then swam up and took the cheater.
  11. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Escape ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):5/4 Time on Water:6am Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: west less than 10 Waves: 1' Surface Temp: 47 degrees Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 25 Total Boated:21 Species Breakdown: Lakers (lots of them) 3 coho, king and an atlantic Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: 2.2 Boat Depth: 90 - 110 Lure Depth: surface to 75 down ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Fished East of the creek and had a slow first hour. Slid out to 90 and the rods started to fire. First triple was 2 lakers and a BIG atlantic that came unbuttoned at the boat. Riggers at 35, 55 and 75, wire at 225, slide diver at 210 and boards with one oz of weight at 125 were the hot set ups. The lakers ran for 5 to 17 lbs. Around 11am we had a big rip on the slide diver and lost an acrobatic king after a 200' run.
  12. Nice report Mark. Lots of BIG kings around already this season!
  13. You can but it is more productive to troll 1.0 - 1.8 and drag cowbells and spin n glows or peanuts. If you want to get lakers on flashers and flies and spoons, troll around 2.0 mph with white flashers and white flies. put some 10' off the bottom and some up higher. Lakers will swim up far to get a bait.
  14. Thanks guys.
  15. Nice dog Chad. Good luck with it.
  16. When using the riggers in shallow water, run your leads 75' minimun from the ball. Run them run them 3 - 5' down in 10' and a 3- 12' down in 15'. If the spoon comes to the surface, add a small amount of split shot 4 or 5' in front of the spoon.
  17. Thanks John. Can't wait to try it!
  18. Thanks Lip ripper. Any suggestions on editing software.
  19. Anyone know how long the battery life is on these cameras? I was wondering if we turned it on and left it on all day if the battery would make it through a 6 hour trip?
  20. Motor not trimmed properly? Could be cavatation? Did the motor rev up and not go? If so, it could be a spun prop hub.
  21. Let me guess, He came with egg Mcmuffins and hash brown patties from WORK not the gourmet food mentioned?
  22. Happy Birthday!
  23. The 27's and 47's are the same clicker. All you need is one of the copper rings. It is 3 screws on the outside of the reel and one screw one the inside.
