  1. As stated above, ditch the mono and ise wire. Mono will not get you down enough on most days.
  2. Looks like a nice male coho to me.
  3. Weigh stations would not go for it. they do not get paid as it is.
  4. Only allow this for people that are signed up for the entire derby? I hate this rule too. Keeps me from fishing more evenings in the fall derby.
  5. And less accurate!
  6. I had the same thing happen to me. I could not figure it out so I just started pushing buttons and turning it on and off until it went back.
  7. I have run them in 4 -5's with no problems. Could there have been frays in the line?
  8. I have been using the 250lb power pro on my otter boats for year now and the only time it ever broke on me was when a blow boater ran over my board in 180 FOW off of Sandy!
  9. Is the clutch slipping? Tighten the star knob on the side of the rigger.
  10. I'm in. They can have our share and we can just keep the cold. That will make some good ice for me to sit on all winter.
  11. Nice report Shawn. Glad to see you got the kids out.
  12. There have been a couple small groups of fish in the river already. If this hurricane upwells the lake, they will be knocking on the door hard core. I would not be suprised if the Salmon gets a push of fish Sunday / Monday. Nothing major but a good push.
  13. No Halibut in Lake Ontario. It is a freshwater fishery.
  14. No Halibut in Lake Ontario. It is a freshwater fishery.
  15. I'm still looking for a small aluminum boat in the 12 to 14' range for perch fishing. If you got one you want to part with let me know. I do need to be able to register it.
  16. You used to be able to send them back to Raymarine. I was told they no longer have parts for those units anymore.
  17. Happy B-day JR. I hope it is a good one.
  18. I had this happen back in July but it was the wire rod and it was arching to my wrist as I reeled. Not a good feeling.
  19. There were 2 Sandy boats. Motoman and my team Escape. I would not have missed it.
  20. I will not be using it this weekend. I have enough guys to run my usual spread.
  21. I say 39.12 but I hope I'm a little lean. I would love to see another 40+ caught y some lucky angler. It does nothing but draw more attention to the great fishery we all are so lucky to have right in our back yard!
  22. Not breaking the rod down is the #1 way to prevent this from happening. You can add 15' of heavy mono between your wire and your diver to prevent this also.
