  1. Nice Shakedown Rob. See you on the water in a week or two.
  2. The only time you run into problems putting out your wires first is if you deploy the copper too fast. Set the copper rod and let it "settle" before putting it on the board. Another tip, Do not turn sharp or your copper will find the high dipsy. Don't ask me how I know that one.
  3. Codie, Ditch the Luhr Jensons and buy some Hammerheads. I used to use the Luhr Jensens and there was a ton of drag with them. For Hammerheads, I use Crystalina, Mountain Dew, All Silver, and Gold and silver.
  4. So what you are saying Rick is you are a closet Lake trout fisherman?

  13. I-bay is loaded with them in May- June. The Genesee River is also loaded. When I was in Highschool, we went down to the pier on a cloudy day in late May and hammered the sheephead. Crabs under a slip float with a 10' lead was the key. A guy came over to us and asked us to keep them for him. We kept 34 large sheephead for him. We ran out of bait so he went to the old Hollow Grinders and paid for more bait. He said he loved to smoke them. He said they tasted like whitefish. I don't know about that but I have never tried.
  14. Lakers are more like finess fishing. Got to keep the balls skipping on the bottom, slow crawl for a troll and keep the boat straight in the lightest breeze. Small lakers are a dime a dozen but 20lbers are hard to come by (unless you are on the Bar at the right time).
  15. [quote name="Yankee TrollerSpring is only 10g's bri' date=' and the only laker that comes aboard YT3 is an accident! Lol [ Post made via Mobile Device ] Thats alright Rick. Leave those lakers for me to cash in on. Mid day when the king bite slows and most guys go back to the dock, I'm still out there dragging around farming equipment. It is a fun way to finish out a good day on the water. Kings in the am and lakers mid day.
  16. So what your telling me is if the winning laker is caught on the Yankee Troller 3, you are going to let it go? $20,000 is $20,000 dollars no matter what species.
  17. Will the winner be a Lake trout this spring? With ice still flushing down the Niagara, not much King action on the West end in Canadian waters, I'm betting on a laker as top prize. We will see.
  18. Sounds like you could use the knot you use on Leadcore core with it. That would be cool for joining mono and Power Pro.
  19. I think it was either a large increase in price or a HUGE cut in stocking / programs. It amazes me that guys spend thousands on fishing gear and b*tch about $30.00????? I don;t mind paying more for my license. I look at it this way, 1) I get my money back in the number of trips, 2) Where can you expierence the fishing that we have here in NYS for $30.00? Break down the number of times you fish a season and compare it to gas, boat payment, slip fees, lunch for the day and tackle. License fees are the cheapest per trip out of all listed above.
  20. Don't think of it that way. Think of it as a new beginning. Find some other guys to fill their shoes. There are plenty of good guys o this site that are willing to fish with others.
  21. Everything looks good there. Must be something under the dash?????
  22. Is the cable routed the same way it was before? If it is on the wrong side of the motor, it will be backwards. Take a pic of the cable where it goes into the outboard.
