  1. I shot one a couple years ago in Braddocks and kick myself for not mounting it. Like Matt said, they are not that smart. Nice job Paul
  2. Happy B-day Larry.
  3. Little do these mental midgets know, the pike keep their panfish populations in check. If all the pike were gone, all they would be left with are dink panfish. If you see this practice, call the DEC TIP line or even better the local CO direct. Their phone numbers are listed on the website. I'm all for keeping a pike for a meal once and a while but killing them and leaving them in no good for the species and the sport.
  4. Chad, It is no different going out on Lake O in a GOOD chop chasing trout and salmon.
  5. You will not bump into me on Bradocks until next year. I'm all done with that place for the season. Conesus, Honeoye and Canadice are the only places you will find me now until March 15th. If there is still ice after that, I may be found on I-bay or Sodus.
  6. Mike, I got one out of there with the same soars on it. Gross looking but the fish seemed healthy.
  7. Funny you say that. Last winter i was wearing that hat when I caught the biggest pike, walleye and largemouth of the winter.
  8. Thanks for taking that video and posting it. It was a good day on the ice. It was a ball to watch that pike slam my jig on the camera.
  9. I was wondering the same thing.
  10. I got 2 of the Okuma Blue Diamond rods last summer and love them. A lot less drag on the wire when it is going through the guides.
  11. Still 5" on Braddocks. Water will be muddy because of the run off.
  12. Happy New Year everyone.
  13. Congratulations. Now she will own half of your fishing stuff.
  14. monkey puke, Your speed and temp unit should be used as a tool along with your fish finder. Fishing perfered temp produces fish but some days the fish are out of temp. If you see hooks on the fish finder in cold water, don't be affraid to put a rig down there . Same goes for hooks high out of temp. Spread out your rigs below, in and above the thermalcline.
  15. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannuka and a happy new year to all.
  16. Happy Birthday Bud. Hope it is a good one.
  17. Braddocks. I was there last Friday.
  18. Bite your tongue. There is plenty of icefishing to be done!
  19. Another Owner fan here. All my Atommiks are tied with them and I use a smaller size on my tip ups icefishing for pike. Super strong and really sharp.
  20. Deaf fisherman, I don't believe there are smallmouth in Silver. Hemlock and Canadice are good places to icefish trout. Hemlock freezes late in the winter because of it's size and can have some really tricky ice. I ahve done really well jigging lakers on Canadice. Maybe I can meet you down there and show you the ropes this winter. If you do go to Hemlock, you have a good chance at catching smallmouth in there.
  21. solgrande, Cutting back the tipups for just one species would not work. People would say they are fishing for other species. I say decrease the limit to 2. 2 average sized pike is a lot of meat (too much for me and wife to eat in one meal).
  22. Only the one corner near the parkway was frozen when I drove home from work last night. I will check tonight and let you know tomorrow.
  23. Your right about muddy Scott. Salmon Creek in Hilton looks like chocolate milk.
