I wonder if the camping at Hamlin will be re-opened?

Did not read the article. Can someone post the details?

I take that back. Looked at the bay bridge trraffice cam and it is open. Water looks a little muddy.

You have a PM

Still frozen. Some of the North and South ends have opened up but not enough to chase the perch all over the bay. Should be able to get to the lake. Just becareful of a South wind. Chunks of the bay will break off and close the channel or boat launch off.

Now that pike , walleye and tiger muskies are off limits, the only thing left to fish is Conesus is gills, bullhead, crappie, perch and catch and release for smallies and Largemouth. The smallmouth fishing can be awesome on this lake if you know where to find them. Not huge numbers but the average fish is heavy. 4-6lb. smallies are taken out of Conesus by the bass guys every season. 4-7 lb. largemouth are taken too.

Happy Birthday Nick.

Half hitch around curtian hook. Then put curtain hook around line and through rubber band.
-
Been using rubberband releases for years. The releases I use, (snapper stackers) the rubber band remains are still attached to the release (half hitched on it). They are taken off and thrown in the garbage. If they are used CORRECTLY, the rubberbands do not end up in the water.

Yes,it does apply to Lake Erie & Lake Ontario, the U.S. Coast Guard will fine you if your not wearing a PFD.But then it goes further if your a Vessel For Hire, your required to have and wear (Type 1 )Life Preservers from Nov 1st to May 1st.
Then the 21 ft rule is bow water line to stern water line! Your vessel on paper may say 21ft but that is the anchor pulpit to swim platform, bow water line to stern water line may only be 18 ft!

It was not being enforced by the Coasties last November. I was fishing perch off the Charlotte pier and they passed by a bunch of fishermen (couple boats trolling) in boats with no life jackets on and did not even stop them.

Cannons here. Fastest on the market, METAL gears (not rubber belts), The descend is smooth and CONTROLLED, you can disingage the cluth and drop them like a Scotty if you really want (the power does not cost you anything so I don't know why power going down would bother anyone???), rod holders are adjustable to many angles up and down (not a one degree rod holder that only rotates), slim profile (width wise) takes up less room on the gunnels, you can have up to 4 rod holders on one cannon rigger, auto stop, positive ion control and great customer service.

Happy Birthday Jeremy. After 30 it is all down hill.

Niagara River. Only consistant spot left on the lake.
-
With the warm temps, rain and wind things should be cleaned off quickly. The 15 day forecast is totally above freezing for highs.
-
It is shrinking fast. Looks like it will be ice free a lot sooner than last season. Take a look. Last year at this time, there was a lot more ice. http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/modis/ ... 3.250m.jpg

The population around the Rochester area (Irondequoit) has exploded in the past 5 years. I caught one reeling in a perch off the Charlotte pier 2 years ago. It killed me to release it unharmed. Something needs to be done.

With a tear in my eye, I put the ice fishing stuff away on Tuesday. I had a good season. Pike fishing was the best I had in years (for numbers of pike). Got my PB ice fishing walleye on the jigging rod. I will post some pics when I get a chance.

Do I hear a petition? Maybe WE need to try all we can to get it back opened.

Thanks Pat,
JAX & YANKEE TROLLER you are now cleared to be the first ones out this year, this weekend off my house . There is about 10-15 feet of shore ice left AND the lake water level is LOW be carefull in tight.
JERRY
RUNNIN REBEL
PS QUIET going by this time.
Please explain Jerry. All I can picture is Rick standing in the front of the boat yelling at Jax to put his rubber net away.

Thanks Rick.

Did not make the meeting. Anyone got the scoop? Longline????
-
Raider,
I run 6' so the releases hold the line better. NO need for 100' IMO.
